I`m back after falling off AGAIN!
Think I may have to attach air bags to me bum at this rate - I wont be AF if I keep fallin off!
Had drink Wed, as last post. Got complacent again & had drink Friday & BENDER on Sat! Dont know why, so I am going to avoid havin alcohol in house.
I feel sooo guilty - I cant do the 25/31 days this month & that was the challenge. Not only that, but I spent housekeeping money which means we`re now broke. Got all things we need, but theres nothing left for treats for DS. pass me the stick, I will beat myself up!
Think that hurts more, knowing that I could have/ should have stopped at the wine I had in the house - not go and buy extra!
Anyway, back again

Read the book last year - it worked for a few months then a string of parties/stresses/ things took over and Im here.
I am trying to re read it, but I cant get the same `hit` as the first time I read it.
Makes loads of sense & more than a bit scary, as to how we all conn ourselves that we enjoy the drink so much. And I have to admit, I don`t enjoy the taste as much, but after the first one I dont care!!!
Maybe thats it, if I just stop the first one, the rest wont follow?!?

Hello again! Went to wedding do last night & had a really good night. Met a workmate & his wife in pub beforehand & had a couple of pints. Was getting a bit worried as I was finishing my drinks quite a bit before him! Got to the do & I was having trouble keeping up with him in the end, mind you that was probably more to do with the chatting I was doing to people:rotfl: ! All in all it was a great night & whilst I did have a few beers & was quite tipsy, I wasn't legless or showing myself up or anything. Nipped up to my Uncle's earlier to drop a birthday card off for his Step-Son. His OH offered us a drink & I had a lager shandy, but ended up finishing the can off! Uncle then gave me another can & it's a good job I was driving or it could have turned into a session! OH bought some wine for tea & I may have a glass or I may stick to lager. Off work this week but won't use it as an excuse to get hammered. Will have a couple of cans here & there but won't go over the top. Hope everyone else is OK & so far it is still 4 NDD's in May! I'm sorry I don't have time for personals, having a real busy day. We are having problems with our internet at work, it keeps going down - PLUS I've got none at all at home  hopefully it might be on this evening.
Anyway, hope you're all well?
I'm on day 2 after hitting rock bottom on Monday night/Tuesday morning. Took a diazepam yesterday afternoon which didn't have any effect at all so I thought, although I must admit it might've took the craving away slightly. When I took one last week it definately made me feel different so don't know why this one didn't do much?
Feeling good today, pleased I've got day one out of the way but to be honest I don't think I've 100% recovered from yesterday's hangover
Welcome to any newbies, hiya to the oldies
What have I missed
Oh, edited to say that I've just had a message from the local authority's drug and alcohol service from a really nice sounding bloke who would like to fit me in next week for a medical assessment and hopefully give me some counselling. I'm gonna ring him when I go for lunch at 12pm today.DFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0 -
Right I'm all booked in to see the counsellor next Thursday at 11am. He wasn't very impressed that the doc gave me diazepam by the way :undecidedDFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0

sorry to hear this...it is quite depressing when you realise that you can't just have one and leave it...if you're that way inclined....I've met a lot of people who are the same and it's really the first drink that makes the difference...survive the temptation for that and I'm OK....have the first and who knows when I'll have the will to stop? I suspect I could now but I really wouldn't want the first as stopping at that would be tough...it's odd because years ago I was OK and could have a couple and leave it but it's not so easy now...
again...what's done is done....draw a line and move on...remember the moment...it wasn't fun and you don't get back the day after....
forgive yourself and enjoy the future.
Thanks Bismark, wise words.0 -

I really really need to join in this thread! OH and I brought a lot of alcohol back from our holiday in France, and it's got to be a bit of a habit, us drinking. I'm on a diet and am so careful with my food, but am getting nowhere (and I blame the alcohol!) - went out for an hour last night with work and polished off a bottle of Bulmers AND a JD and diet coke. Need to get out of the habit of drinking at home, especially during the week.
Just wondering - can anyone recommend any yummy non-alcoholic drinks that are out of the ordinary? Not just squash or coke? I've been eyeing up the Whittards Fruit Squashes, and I do like Sainsburys fizzy mango and peach.... x0 -
Just about to take the big red hairy thing (red setter) out for a walk, but just wanted to say hi.
SamanthaA Hope life is a bit more settled for you...........welcome back. It was interesting to hear how you got on with the Allen Carr book. I'm kinda feeling I won't go back to drinking..................but guess you felt the same way to.....................I am a bit concerned that these lovely feelings I have of not wanting a drink will fizzle up and I'll be left exposed and wanting!! I like the way you count the alcohol free days in a month
Winebox Hiya. Hope you're back soon................hope life is treating you good.
Itmo7 Do you feel that you're heading in the right direction? Are you drinking less on your days on?
Hello to everyone who stumbles across here.....................it's a great group if you're thinking of joining in.:j
Right.......no more procrastination...........Moel Famau here we come !!0
