I'm amazed at some of the sizes I see mentioned. Our smaller SC is 1.5ltrs (Hinarei lifestyle £9 Matalan) and yesterday I cooked 3 chicken breasts in a cook in sauce with added celery, mushrooms and onion. There was plenty of room in the removable pot and more than enough food for 3 big appetites.
I strongly recommend that size (and price) for anyone who wants to try out slow cooking.
I'm Glad to be here... At my age I'm glad to be anywhere!!

the one i bought was a 4.5ltr far me, OH and 2 kids and it seems big enough to do 2 meals worth of food.
Other women want a boob job. Honey the only silicone i'm interested in is on a 12 cup muffin tray, preferably shaped like little hearts

  • I brought the one from agros as mentioned aboved, was so excited even used my nectar points that had been just sitting there and ended up not having to pay anything ... bonus! got home and unwrpped it and the lid handle is scuffed and theres a chip on it, and the crock part is scuffed too! so i phoned morphy richards to complain! got to go all the way back to argos now and get a replacement! :(

Fingers crossed that I remember to post the link this time!

Had a bit of a result tonight! I had been thinking of getting a SC having read the info on here. Read that it's better to go for a brown crock and 3 settings. Went in my local tesco and they had their own reduced to £14.96 from £19.96. Got to the till and was charged full price. Realised (I can be quite slow and got as far as the door!) so went to customer services, not only refunded the £5 but gave me another £5,so I got it for £9.96! Hope it's ok-if it doesn't work it's going back, even at that price! It's a lovely brushed chrome and black which goes with my kettle and fridge (I know that doesn't really matter but nice anyway!)
Tomorrow is always fresh, with no mistakes in it!
  • Can someone please recommend me a slow cooker?

Not got mega bucks to spend but needs it to be big enough for six people and even fit in a whole chicken if possible.

Is this possible or am I living in a dream world?

    All advice gratefully received.

I have a large morphy richards one.. quite simple.. turn it and press 'start'.. it is huge though so unless you have a large family or large freezer it may be too big...

    THIS ONE

It is available in a smaller size.. HERE

Hi, there  We have an older thread on which slow cooker to buy. I'll add your question to that to keep ideas together.
