Hi anyone have an idea where I can buy a SC for my DD at a reasonable cost .I bought mine several years ago and they seem to have gone up a bit since then . It would have to be fairly big as she has a family of 70

Hi Jackie,
For a family of seven they'd probably be best with a 6.5ltr one. Argos have the morphy richards and Rachel Allen ones on offer at the moment at £25.47 and £24.99 respectively. Amazon are doing the MR one for £23.48 with free delivery.
We have an older thread with lots of recommendations that should help. Your best bet would be to look throught that and decide on a model then use the shopping comparison sites ( Kelkoo* | Pricerunner* | Shopping*) to see where you can find it cheaper. The links to comparison sites I have provided are affiliate links that help MSE but you can find them easily in google too.
I'll add your thread to the main which and why slow cooker thread so that you can read other old stylers opinions.

Hi, Does anyone have the Tefal 4 in 1 Slow Cooker,Steamer, Rice Cooker and Porridge Maker? Looking to buy a slow cooker for me and my OH, want to cook extra sometimes to put in the freezer but don't want one too large for a standard meal for two. Have heard that some think that the 6.5 litre Morphy Richards one is too large for a couple. Any thoughts? Thanks0

The Tefal sounds like an excellent piece of kit. I have a steamer, where I do the rice, steamed fish etc, a Slow Cooker where I do curry's, casseroles etc
and I do my porridge in the microwave. One item which would do it all would be so sensible and it gets a great write-up on Amazon.
Can I justify dumping the other two Mmmmm.
Any SC over 1.5litres would be enough for two people (I agree with #682)I'm Glad to be here... At my age I'm glad to be anywhere!!
I'm not losing my hair... I'm getting more head!!0 -
