I have a Croc pot that was bought for me and it does the job well. It heats quite evenly and not on one side like some others, which stops food sticking and burning. Does not use much electricity either.
I have not used another brand so cannot comment.0 -
I'll add this to the exisiting thread on choosing a SC so that you can see more replies

I have a Swan one and I think it's fab. I think it was only £7 or so from Littlewoods but I had to keep sending catalogues back afterwards for a while until they got the message to leave me alone.May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0

I recently bought this Breville 4.8l from Amazon for £16.99

The results have been great so far and it's big enough to make larger quantities for freezing (though it now has a 3-6 week delivery delay).
Very basic instructions, but there is plenty of info and recipes on here to get you started!"Cheap", "Fast", "Right" -- pick two.0 -
I am not sure if this has been asked before but...
does a slow cooker exist which has say, a cast iron cooking pot or something, so that you can brown the meat etc directly in the pot (on the hob) then just put the whole pot in the slow cooker (like putting a casserole dish in the oven)
I hope it does and that I am not just fantasising! We must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment0 -
I got this one the other day, which you can use to brown the meat (though I've not used it yet). I used a code (from the code board) for £30.00 off £60.00 spend on first order.

Hi All
I am looking to buy a Slow Cooker - been looking at...
http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/4227573/Trail/searchtext%3ESLOW+COOKER.htm
Reviews seem real good, however i'm not too sure how much you can really cook in one that is 3.5L and I think I would prefer a bigger one? Any recommendations??
Many thanks0 -
I've got two of them, both Morphy Richards. One 3.5l when it's just me, hubby and a couple of spare portions for the freezer, and then the 6.5l one when I've got a leg of lamb or huge amount of meat for a 'once a month' bulk cook. Love em both, use em loads0
