Hi all
I am thinking of Christmas!!!! I know - I am mad!
My mum is an avid cook, and I was considering buying her a slow cooker for christmas! She lives on her own (does have the occasionaly student) and is very conscious of her electricy useage.
Would love your advice as to whether a slow cooker would be a good additional to a cooks kitchen, whether it is suitable for a person living on their own and whether you have found it economical.
Look forward to hearing your thoughts.

I would buy one, the best beef ever from a slow cooker, very tasty.0

I love my (new!) slow cooker but I wonder if she's on her own whether a Remoska might be better for her and more multi purpose?
There is a huuuuuggggee thread about Remoska on here. I don't have one, although I've been coveting one for a long while!Piglet

My 1st post!
Been lurking on the boards for ages, and after finally trawling through this thread I've taken the plunge and ordered the Morphy Richards 3.5L one. There's only 2 of us, so I'm hoping that should be roomy enough. I'm already planning what I'm going to cook in it. I'm so excited, think I need to get out more...
Gonna work my way through the recipes thread now........All the coffee in Columbia won't make me a morning person...

I've just had a look at the Remoska slow cooker after reading some of the Remoska thread.
It's a bit out of my price range, so I was wondering what other slow cookers you can recommend?
Sorry if this has been done before!0 -
Hi WartimeScrapingofMarmite,
There's an earlier thread with lots of recommendations that should help so I've added your thread to it to keep the suggestions together.

Hi, I've been lurking on here for ages and have picked up some brilliant tips. After reading all the threads by the fans of slow cookers I think I might be converted!!:D
Now I just need to decide which one to buy. Which one would you recommend and why and roughly how much are they?
Thanks in advance. Just going home from work feeling very hungry after reading the rice pudding thread!:D0 -
