Started the August challenge yesterday as dh is paid weekly on a friday.
Done great already. Sold the caravan last night together with some other bits. :j :j :j They left a deposit and paid the rest when they collected it earlier today. £800 in all which will be paid off my credit union loan on which I am paying £310 per month. :T This payment together with the savings there will clear the loan! :money: Yippeeeee!!!!! That will be one debt done.
Last night dh got paid for some fencing he made so that is another £260. This though will go straight to bills etc which his sick money (currently off work with a smashed forefinger and a broken thumb) does not cover.
Should I count any of these amounts in my pin?The best bargains are priceless!!!!!!!!!! :T :T :T0 -
ok i managed to save the voucher from dominoes - it dried well with a hair dryer. also i found £3 in my car and 10.25 down the back of my sofa lol. so pin money now equals ...........................£23 !!!!!!
this is such a fun game! am also selling a couple of things to a friend so that will be an extra £30 when that clears!
oh and another friend is giving me £45 she borrowed on tuesday. i had completely forgot about it!
so that will be a total of £98 but........... its my dads 40th on saturday and his pressie is a hotel room for the night with my mother - total cost
£80.
so am back down to £18.#113 12K in 2020 Challenge #113 £17,103/£12,000 £150000 -
Hi everyone, this is my first month at this, so here goes . . .
I've got £55 so far, sold our gym on Ebay (for £50) cos we've joind a gym in town (only £3 a week cheaper than buying a glossy mag) and saved £5 in vouchers at our Asda shop, so transferred the equivalent to the savings account. Also got another £15 to transfer as sold some SIM cards on Ebay too.
Am hoping for £100 this month.Comping Challenge

Hello
Last month went pretty well, I managed to save around £40 by doing bogof's and using vouchers etc, but as money was tight, I didnt actually 'save' the money, it went on bills n stuff! Oh well.
My pin money jar is an old washed out baked bean can, with a plastic lid from an old jar of nutella, and fits perfectly. It has a lovely coin (and hopefully paper money) slot, and the cash I start with this month is...
76p in coppers, dragged out of jeans pockets and into the can.
Im going to fully write down the ins and outs this month so I can have an accurate look of where and how im saving, to determine whether there are other areas I can save in.
Im giving myself a target of £20 this month, as I really dont know whats going to happen this month (see todays o/s thread) as to where we will be - so I figure its a realistic target to half last months approx target and take it from there....
I should get my £26.50 greasy palm cheque this month, and should also retreive £60 I am owed, which may or may not be classed as pin, as it again depends on situation. What I really want is £20 at the end of the month sitting in cash in my special PIN isa! Here's hoping!
Jo xx
EDIT: Good news for me, staying put for a month, so Virtual Pin attempt is going to be £45 - A £5 increase on last month,#KiamaHouse0 -
Having watched from afar, decided to give this a go - think I've got off to a bit of a flyer:
Raided my "coin bottle" - only had 7 bags tho - took them to the post office (lady grumbled lots), the balance (coppers only) went to the Coinstar machine = result - £83!
(Yip I know that the Coinstar machines are controversial, however only paid the commission on £23).
Normally do all my shopping in store at Sainsbury’s, however notice the £10 code in the “discount vouchers” section – so had it delivered instead - £5 Net gain
BOGOF’s - £3.48 as part of the shop
So £91.48 - "free" money!
Dont bother wasting your time on people who dont like you0 -
I have been doing this without realising it how strange.
I save all my loose change and put it in a pot then take it to get changed up. In about 3 months I had £15 not much I know but I was chuffed.
I do my food shopping online and do it fortnightly and normally save around £20 each shop. By using bogof, vouchers and 4 for £3 etc.
I have now jiggled my phone around so save £15 a month on that have also set up a direct debit for the phone so that will save me £2 a month.
I will try and do a proper monthly one as of August and let you all know how I go.0 -
July went a bit astray so am going to try again this month. 1st of the month being on a monday helps mentally as well as I always start new diets on a monday! Will aim for £20 this month.April £5 a day challenge- £15.05/£1500
