brummiebabe - great start!
Another good week for both types (which goes some way to make up for a v. shaky Grocery Challenge month!).
Received £9.72 2nd income, a free freeview box (oh's colleague's emigrating and wouldn't accept any money for it!), and used £6.95s worth of coupons at the supermarket.
So: aPMS: £50.72
vPMS: approx. £53.980 -
I'm so getting in to this now! Further VPM of £23.73 as used my Littlewoods commission to order a slow cooker! Kills 2 birds with 1 stone!! Now where are those slow cooker recipies....

Got a lovely suprise today. DH received £50 tesco vouchers with his wage slip through the post together with a tax rebate of £10 with him being on s.s.pay. Made more on the pin by using the vouchers to do a store cupboard type shop that with smaller fresh stuff shopping should last us a month or more! Bought giant bag of pasta, etc that does not go off. I am not doing the working out of how much I saved with buying bigger packs etc as I cannot be bothered but know that I bought more food and toiletries than I have ever done before for an outlay of £3.53! There were bags and bags of it. Dog food, loo rolls, toothpaste, 2 packs of daz on half price to dilute with soda crystals etc.
Bought a bithday gift for niece and another for a new baby in the family using paypal money from small sales on ebay too.
August virtual pin is now £94.45!!!
Really pleased that os is here to point out further savings at the moment with money so tight. Also been approved the other day for a Virgin cc to clear an old overdraft onto 0% so shall save £8 per month there too. Thanks to all!!!!!The best bargains are priceless!!!!!!!!!! :T :T :T0 -
Total VPM is now....£48.22!!! Got toiletries from Boots (using Advantage Card points) saved £4.59. Tesco shop on-line, with BOGOFs, multibuys, various savings & one voucher added another £13.19!!!

I found £2 today! Im really pleased, I was rooting around under the chest of drawers to access the plug socket extension thingy, and it was just there. I know I havent lost a £2 coin, so someone else has, and its not in my actual pin jar.
Excellent!

this challenge really went out the window due to unplanned house move.. but ive been making sure i get the best bargains on all my house stuff.
However i found £5.34 in a coat i hadnt worn for a while... scrunched in a tesco reciept from March!! so must have been there since then.... and ive picked up 11p "pavement" money this month.. but i wont be putting down my figures till next month now probably.0 -
Can we start the next months challenge soon can we can we can we?
I am really fired up about this pin money malarkey and can't wait for my payday (only a virtual one unfortunately as I am on maternity leave and not getting any actual money) so that I can start saving pins tee hee
Think I will set my target at £30 and if I manage it, it will go straight into my Christmas fund which at the moment is looking particularly sorry for itself. ie its empty.0 -

Why not try starting now and see how you get on? Bit of extra practice. You could keep it a virtual pin.The best bargains are priceless!!!!!!!!!! :T :T :T0 -
Good point Rebob, no time like the present I suppose. With that in mind I am going to take the bus into town today instead of driving- will cost £2 return whereas the car would have been £7 fuel and £3 parking. A saving of £8 without really trying!
(although the reason I am going in is to pick up the professional photos we've just had done of our son. It was a "special" offer though so I hope I can stick to the £10 offer price without buying any others.)0 -
I've not managed to do this at all this month. I will have to start next month after all. I'm saving bits and pieces, but haven't kept track. Bits on bus fare, and getting a better deal on my cereal by looking in Iceland rather than Tesco...but nothing written down. Well done all those of you who are keeping track!0
