TSC Credit Management letter - VIRGIN MEDIA T&C

OMG these people have responded to my letter by phoning me at work and leaving messages!! Surely this constitutes harassment?
Anyway I called them back and they wanted me to give them all my personal details after I gave them the reference number, I refused as they already have this information and explained this to them. I also explained that I have had my ID stolen a number of times. They then claimed it was to do with an NTL account from an address that I lived at 5 years ago, the same one where all the fraudelent activity has occurred from. I explained to them again the situation and that I cancelled my ntl account when I lived at the property about 6-10 months before I moved, then had my post redirected for a year. I have NEVER received any letters saying I owed money and had paid the account by DD monthly. They were not able to provide any info or invoices as they are a "collection agent". She said she would put a hold on the account. She then gave me a number to call 0845 454 0000 where they said they had no record of the account number given by TSC Credit Management or me owing any money and gave me another number an 0800 052 0800 where the lady said they again had no record and a lot of this was occuring recently. She advised me to send a copy of the letter (and invoice which I dont have) to their HO and said that they would advise the debt people/ TSC to cancel the action.
Interesting to see what happens next.
Any one else heard yet?

who is this you called?? virgin? as like i say i spoke to virgin and they did say that i had held accounts with them and i owe this money to them. i had the accounts 4 years back

TSC Credit Management called me at my work in response to the letter that I originally sent them, apparently my work number is available for people to locate. They said it was an ntl bill from a previous address. I do not owe ntl any money and cancelled the service at the address they quoted 6-10 months before I moved out of the property and then had post redirected for a year, hence how I was able to track the ID fraud people previously. They said they were unable to tell me the date of the bill owing or provide a copy of it. They suggested that I telephone virgin media and gave me a contact number. It was virgin media that confirmed that I did not owe them anything and to send a copy of the letter received from TCM onto them. Which is what I intend to do today. Would you guys agree to do this?

No harm in sending a copy to Virgin as I can see, but I would make sure Virgin send you a statement that you owe them nothing.

I have sent the copy letter off to Virgin today, as they requested and also another letter to TSC advising them of the facts of the case and that they should now delete it from my credit file etc. Waiting to see what happens next.

alright for some, when i phoned virgin they told me i did owe the £130 that tsc asked for :-( still awaiting a bill though.

whats my standing if Virgin or TSC can't produce proof that i owe this money?

I guess they take you to court, but if they have no proof will they win?

Do you think you owe the money even if it was 4 years ago.

If so you may have to pay it.

I would wait and see what proof they send you.

What I dont understand is how no one appears to have been advised of these debts before the letter from TSC... and then TSC are unable to provide any actual proof of the debt (thats what they told me) and yet they can send these threatening letters out for what are, realistically, small amounts of money. If I had owed £27.12 I dont honestly think that I would have avoiding paying it for years. It is all most odd.
Have they clarified when or what address you owe the money from? Are you aware of any possiblity of owing it?

I agree it does seem odd and that so many have recieved them at the same time.

I guess if I sent out 300 letters requesting £30 and got back 300 letters with a £30 cheque in I would be very happy and sunning myself somewhere hot.

Thats not to say the letters are not legit but just a thought, a bit like those fishing Emails we get all the time.

i contacted TSC and informed them that as of yet i still haven't received these bills. they said they will put a note on the system that i chased and told me that i just needed to wait now, they said that they now need to wait to virgin to contact them with whether to proceed or to close down account. but he said that the statements/bills etc can take 6 or so weeks.

so the stage im at now is to just wait and see if someone contacts me in regards to this case. hopefully not:-)

but if they do and still cannot provide proof then surely i am in my rights to not pay a penny??

Have they clarified when or what address you owe the money from? Are you aware of any possiblity of owing it?

the address virgin gave originally was the old address i used to live at when i had NTL. the problem i have is that there was a dispute originally after we cancelled etc as we kept on receiving mail, but after many many phone calls we eventually got it sorted out, and we stopped receiving post from them saying we owed money. but when i spoke to virgin they said they had no record of any phone call 4 years ago and that i owed the money.

TSC advised me now not to contact virgin directly but to just wait to hear from TSC direct and they will inform me if virgin still wish to proceed or if they just close the account down.
