6th July - Sent cheque off for £1.
27th July - Sent email asking them to advise me on the situation as I have not heard from them.

For the time being I will be keeping my money in the Bradford & Bingley.0 -
30 June - application sent
13 July - application approved. £1 cheque sent
18 July - account opened.
20 July - Login ID received
21 July - £1 cheque debited
25 July - password received and account accessed online
So - slower than published SLA to open, but hassle free so far. Website isn't particularly polished but does the job. Additional funds now being transferred........0 -
My application went smoothly:
6 July My application was acknowledged by email.
9 July Received email accepting my details, and requesting cheque for £1 minimum. Sent £100 same day.
15 July Account officially opened - £100 credited to HiSAVE account.
19 July Email received confirming account opened and giving account and login details.
19 July My cheque is shown debited from my current account.
25 July Password received by mail, and I was able to login to view my account.
I am quite content with the speed with which the account was opened. Two and a half weeks altogether. I shall transfer some more serious cash directly.Science without religion is lame,

Slow and inefficient.
1. 3 July filled in on line application and received email confirmation.
2. 16 July nothing heard so rang ICICI. Was told that I would be contacted within 2 working days.
3. 24 July nothing heard so sent email asking what the problem was.
4. 26 July received email asking for identity/address proof attested by bank or solicitor.
5. Barclays refused (I shall be writing to them!) and the solicitor charged me £5.
6. 29 July requested items posted with a covering letter. Watch this space.
This is my very first time writing in any forum, hope I have got it right. Looks like this bank is going to be a no-goer from the other comments I have read. I was a little worried about the comment about ING from Simon as I have money there. Should I be worried?0 -

Sent them an e-mail on 17/07/05 asking what was going on.
Recieved user ID etc on 19/07/05 and told password to follow within 6 working days.
They still have a day to go....lets see if it arrives tomorrow. Place your bets!
Edit 27/07/05 Post has been but nothing from ICICI. Glad I only sent a cheque for £1.
Now 02/08/05. Still no password. Phoned the number given on website. Chap I spoke to (Jason) didn't seem to know what he was doing. Promised call back within 2 working days. This bank is complete joke. If/when I get my password it will be useless anyway now. I wouldn't deposit a sack of spuds.0 -
Ported wrote:I've had nothing but problems with ICICI. After weeks of hassle they've at last sent me a password and user name. Guess what? When I try to log in I get a message "Invalid User Name or Password". I've phoned them and they said they would fix it in 48 hours. That was over a week ago. I've e-mailed them with the usual response - none.
Meanwhile I've no idea if the funds I sent by BACS have arrived or not.
IF YOU'RE THINKING OF OPENING AN ACCOUNT WITH ICICI .....MY ADVICE IS DON'T.

Ref. my earlier comment about trying to get your money out of them. After experiencing a "no go" to transfer to my linked account I submitted a request to close the Hisave account last Wednesday. I 'phoned on Friday to enquire about progress and was told it takes three working days and should be completed on Monday or I could transfer the balance to my linked account!!!???. I received a message on the website Monday informing me that my closure request would be (NOT had) passed to the relevant department. Nothing has happened as I write. I'll leave it until tomorrow and then make a further 'phone call enquiry. I suppose the only consolation is that the balance is earning 5.4% gross while still in the account?0

With reference to the icici bank, I sent a cheque off on the 13th July 2005 and I was sent my password number on the 22nd July, however I cannot access my account. It gives a page of numbers to ring but unless I missed it-the numbers given were many international numbers and I couldn't see a uk one. I therefore have emailed them asking why I cannot log on.
I am still unsure whether to risk putting any further money in this bank or not, judging from the comments in the forum.
Anyone know the latest info on this.0 -
There is a UK? number to contact them - 08081 314151 - probably routed to the subcontinent.
You'll not get any e-mailed response from them!0
