Well they can count me out of their *global wealth ambitions" I've requested the closure of my Hisave account. It will be interesting to see how long that particular excersise takes?0

I applied, not realising from any of the 'what you need to apply' info that I needed to send a £1 cheque to initiate my account (I still can;t see where it says I need that!)
Therefore I applied using an account I have which doesn't have a cheque book (but does allow bank transfers online).
When I did receive the email asking for the £1 cheque, I emailed them to ask if I could send a cheque from another account, or arrange a bank transfer from the acconut I had appied under.
It took 8 days and 4 emails to get a reply which said I would have to reapply using a chequeing account.
I replied and pointed out none of the their application criteria stated I needed a chequing account and could they work this out as I am concerned about multiple credit cheques appearing on my credit reference agency file. 7 days later I have had no reply.
I have given up.Named after my cat, picture coming shortly0 -

I've had nothing but problems with ICICI. After weeks of hassle they've at last sent me a password and user name. Guess what? When I try to log in I get a message "Invalid User Name or Password". I've phoned them and they said they would fix it in 48 hours. That was over a week ago. I've e-mailed them with the usual response - none.
Meanwhile I've no idea if the funds I sent by BACS have arrived or not.
IF YOU'RE THINKING OF OPENING AN ACCOUNT WITH ICICI .....MY ADVICE IS DON'T.0 -
Applied for an account on 30th June and sent them an email when nothing had been heard after a week.
Received email on 11 July asking for initial deposit and sent a cheque for £1.00 the following day. Up to today this has not been presented and I have had no further communication from them.
This does not exactly fill me with confidence - (I'm glad it was only £1.00) and after reading of other peoples experience I am rapidly coming to the conclusion that the Bradford & Bingley at 5.1% is a safer option.
Thanks to other money savers for their feedback!!0 -
I have started an application with ICICI, but after reading everyone's horror stories I've decided not to pursue it. Fortunately, the application has been held up due to ICICI requiring identifation & proof of address from me. I sent these documents over 2 weeks ago and am still waiting to hear from them.0

They do show you how to fill in your cheque here. Although, the use of the word "should" is problematic, as it can mean either an outright obligation or a preferred requirement.

My initial cheque cleared my bank on 6 July, since when I have heard nothing, despite chasing them up twice by 'phone. Plenty of promises here, but do consider that only the first £2000 on deposit is fully guaranteed.

I applied 20 June, received email immediately, sent off cheque, noted it had been cashed, then heard very little more. After three weeks I emailed and eventually received a reply saying that the HiSave account was open. I have received neither a user ID nor a password. I feel that if ICICI are so SLOW and UNRELIABLE just getting me started they would drive me to drink if they had most of my cash savings (which is what I had intended for them). So, to conclude, unless they rapidly show signs of improving spped and customer service I shall just close the account again.
Cheers, Chris0
