Jon do one, jumping on peoples threads spamming when they are asking for help and dont need your help
Spamming is bad enough when u start your own threads, but jumping on others is a joke
rant over lol
Eric hope all is well. ive recently opened up to someone, OH know all about it and is a fantastic help keeping me going telling me how well im doing. just had to tell my mom who keeps nagging to get this and get that, didnt want to do it as she worries and it wasnt nice at first cos all my debt is at her house and she thought shed be in trouble, but now has all sorted it out.
Whilst in debt i have done terrible things which were as a result of a gambling addiction even when i was in a DMP. I eventually got found out and had to tell my gf who i thought i was going to lose and made me sick inside, but we have worked things through.
you have been honest now and im sure if your wife gives you half as much support as my gf gives me then im sure she will help in a massive way
its nice for someone who your close with to know so you can talk to them about it

Echoing what others have said and also, trying to put myself in your wife's position I would be more upset that you had 'hidden' something as important as this from me than I would be about the actual debt. Even though the shock of the debt must be awful for her as well. She'll be thinking if you can hide this...what else are you capable of hiding from her etc
You will have to go a long way to prove that you can be trusted in future to confide in her and also that you have the situation 'under control' ie you are looking into how you can repay the debt, getting advice and that the debt isn't continuing to spiral out of control.
From now on you must be fully open with her about this and work as a team.
If, as you say the debt was for bills etc then your wife has also had the benefit of that money as well, it's not like you've been secretly been living the high life to the tune of £50k or spent £50k on a mistress etc.
I'm sure she'll realise this in time but when she does calm down, make sure you are as open as you can be. It will be much easier for you two to get through this together. We’ve had to remove your signature.
