Just went through to ntl using the number listed. Was originally offered the deal of £23.99 for basic pack, family pack, and sky sports free for 12 months. As i was already paying £13.99 for the base pack, an extra tenner a month for sky sports is brill, however.....heres the but....im not in a digital area.
SO.....they can still give me the same deal but charge me a higher price of £27.50. I sounded all forlorn and sad :A ...but inside was thinking "get in there" :T ......can see footy all season now...come on mcfc.
Your alive....the most important feeling in the world :j0 -
Just wondering if this will work on new customers? I am going to get the 3 for £30 per month offer and wondering if I mention the Free sky sports, I would get that also. Any new customers tried it?something missing0

I asked about that deal (3 for £30) with free sky sports and they said no because you would be getting two deals in one.:whistle:Make Hay While The Sun Shines:think:0 -
I dont think you would get it on the 3 for £30 as it's the basic package and not the family package.0

cardiffkjk wrote:Hi I contacted NTL today and thought that I would ask for any discounts for loyal customers.I was told straight away that I could have Sky sports free for 12 months and broadband for £19.99 for 6 months.Usually they will only give one offer, but because we have 2 digi boxes etc they would let me have 2! Not a bad saving just for asking!
i was paying 17.99 for 312kbs, and they up'd me to 1mb for 9.99 and free sports when i threatened to canx - have phone and family pack....
one offer? my backside.... it all depends on how they're feeling when your call comes inWillow: I knew it, I knew it, well not in the sense of having the slightest idea, but I knew there was something I didn't know!0 -
I have just got the free sky sports deal from telewest. i just asked if i could cancel my present contract and start a new contract with the free offer.and they said they would just give it to me now on my present contract. Hooray!!!
( if you try this, the offer finishes on 31st oct ):hello: :j0 -
Just got my latest bill & they have reversed my discount after just one month! I rang the usual number & was told I need to ring customer services on week days 9-5. Thats handy when I'm at work all day!

I have spent 1hour on the phone this a.m being passed from pillar to post with my enquiry of reducing my bill for my current services.
Have been with them for nearly 5yrs and have full package. Currently paying £5 a month more than a new customer would for same services. Spoke to 5 different people, 1 in India who offered a deal which was only £2 better and still more expensive than what a new customer would get!!!Told him that I wasnt happy and had to explain 3 times that the website offer was better! Eventually agreed and then transferred me to yet anoth rep who was really unwilling to budge on giving me any credit for 5yrs loyalty and over £4500 of custom(Shocked me just how much we have spent on TV over this time!). Could only offer the same deal as a new customer, which I wasn't prepared to accept. I asked to be put through to cancellations but told that they only work 9-5 Mon-Fri(v convenient!).
Anyway after coming off the phone and seething for 15mins I rang the Complaints line to register the above and got through to a very pleasant chap who has registered my complaint and somehow managed to reduce my bill by £15 mth which is far better than I could have hoped for even with the equivalent new customer package!
In short- If at first you don't suceed, try, try, try, try and try again! Nils carborundum illegitimiHappiness is wanting what you have, not having what you want.
