Ebico prices to increase on 1 August
Comments

In view of the postings from Aug/Sept 2005 the increase had been well flagged and I think you are lucky if you have only just been charged those rates. TBH I was pleasantly surprised that my October bill was all charged at the old rate, and the increases were not implemented until the Jan 2006 cycle.
A letter from the time, that I have in my possession, said that 'prices will apply to the first full bill received after 1st September 2005', and incorporated a personal guarantee from the MD Phil Levermore that 'these prices will remain fixed for you for at least the next 12 months.'
The tariffs now are here0 -

I don't think it works that way. Southern only act as agent for Ebico. The following is a quote from Ebico last year:
08/07/2004: "EQUIGAS and EQUIPOWER Prices Remain Unchanged. You may have recently received a letter from Southern Electric, SWALEC or Hydro
telling you that gas prices are rising. This was sent by them to some EQUIGAS
customers in error! EQUIGAS and EQUIPOWER prices have remained UNCHANGED. We will be writing to confirm this to our customers shortly."
As Deleted_User has already mentioned above, we had a guarantee from the MD of Ebico that there would be no rises until at least September 2006. Of course, what happens then is anyones guess.0 -
i sent an email to ebico to ask about price rises on the 22 feb 2006 as i am changing over to them. This is there reply
"We had a price increase on 1st September 2005, our first one in over 20
months. We do not anticipate reviewing our tariffs until late summer. The
prices quoted on our website are correct.

I got a similar email as I have just switched to them today for my gas, the quote for me was "later in the year" but I figure that the unit price is much better than most of the big suppliers its worth the risk.
I hope the switch goes smoothly.0
