  • You can get a pre-paid electron visa card called Cash Passport from Thomas Cook. The idea is to use it in place of travellers cheques, e.g. if you are worried about credit card fraud. (I had a visa card cloned somewhere abroad about a year ago and the criminals just started to try to use it). Only the money you change it up with could possibly be stolen if anyone managed to hack your details.

Anyway, being keen on saving money, I reckoned the £3 commission this card cost me plus £2 petrol was a good deal when compared with £10 for one set of flights. I intended to use it on the Ryanair or Easyjet sites and save several pounds for EVERY flight I book over the next couple of years - easily £50.

However, the untrue information on Ryanair's web site directly cost me £5 for the card and petrol. To those who say "a tenner for five flights aint bad" etc, I agree... but how would you like someone to steal a fiver from your wallet?

We couldn't make a flight last year, i tried to phone and cancel but they said they dont do cancellations, and i couldn't have my money back. I tried to explain that i wasn't worried about my 4p total but that i was just trying to be courteous and cancel but she just said well just dont turn up then! Great customer service, and a great way of working  .

Anyway, in reply to your question! No you don't have to cancel!
