Morning all........................((((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))) if you need one....
Had a bad night again last night, was up at 3am....went back to bed just after 4am, woke at 8.30 feeling like something the cat dragged in!!!
Waiting for a freecycler to come and collect the chair for her Dad, should be here around 11am, I hope!!
Its dull this morning, but there is quite a srong breeze, I have been down and put a load of washing in...........have another load ready to go.....
We are going to the allotment after lunch, have a couple of jobs to do there and I need some leeks, we have a couple of lavender bushes to heel in, I want to take some cuttings later when the sappy new growth comes in. I want to edge the herb bed with lavender.
OH is very pleased with his chair, he tried it last night and I had a little go, its comfortable and easy to adjust, I found an old throw, its quite small, but have draped it over the chair for now, will keep my eye on the charity shops, otherwise will maybe make a quilt for it eventually.
Right off for a :coffee: :coffee: cheers for now............Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
i feel really guilty as i havent been on mse, and the os board for what feels like ages.... i have been sooo busy with work.. that i havent had time for myself or the house really.... so really do need to get back on track....
after reading the shabby chic thread..... and feeling totally naffed off with seeing other peeps kitchens etc....( only becasue i am jealous...lol..) i am going to spruce up my kitchen... i cant afford new cupboard doors etc... so i am going to paint them.....
so last night i more or less finished my huge pile of ironing.... and started de-cluttering the work top.. today i am going to have a right sort out of the bottom end of the kitchen where the table is, and then give the kitchen cupboard doors a dam good clean...ready for them to be painted... i will prob also clean all the skirting boards and the back door, so that can have a lick of paint to, with the same paint....
as i am going to remove the doors from the unit under the sink as i want to put a nice shabby chic style curtain there.. i think i need to have a mega clean out under there too..
i reaaly dont know what is lurking in the back
in between all this i will be watching the rugby.... silly really as i never watch rugby unless it is wales playing in an international....
good luck boys......:beer:Work to live= not live to work0 -
Good Morning All
Kids had a really good day y-day. DD enjoyed her 1st visit to the schools out programme at the local leisure centre. She's been wanting to go for ages (but too young). Now, she kindly informs me, that she will go every day during the next holidays!
DS enjoyed his activity day at the TA centre. Im still confused as to why he was chosen, as there was only 4 pupils from his school who went to the event today! I see it as a privledge, but feel quite upset that he was chosen to go along side an "asbo" kid! If I would have known this, he wouldn't have gone, as Ive tried to keep my DS and this boy seperated for the last 5yrs. I will ring the person in charge on Monday and ask these questions, to put my mind at rest, or shall I just leave it!
Im still not great, was sent home from work y-day. Tried to sleep in the a-noon, but couldn't.
Still no news on on my babysitter's baby, so not sure if the little man's ok or not!
Pay day y-day, and pay out today! OH will go into town for me in a mo and pay the rent, council tax & bills for me! Again, everything will be paid, but leaves me with zilch in the bank! At least by June, August & Oct, the majority of debt I have will be cleared!
Usual to be done this wk end, shopping, housework, etc...
DD is having her hair cut today, and DS desperately needs some shoes for school.
Dont think OH will be doing a car boot on sunday, weather forcast doesn't look too good.
kyle - hope you feel better soon, my chest really hurts, especially when I cough, which then makes everywhere else ache!
(((hugs))) to smokey
Have a great weekend,
Love Emma xxx

Morning :hello:
smokybabe - I'm so sorry to hear that OH is worse, but at least he is still hanging in there. You have amazing strength and I wouldn't be surprised if he can sense that. Great big hugs, and I'm with everybody else here, praying for him to pull through :grouphug:
Happy belated birthday to Shez for yesterday! :bdaycake:
donny-gal - I'm glad you mentioned they're treating labyrinthitis as a possibility, as I've had that (missed half a term of school with it when I was 14) and the symptoms you describe sound just like it. Glad they no longer think it's more serious.
redruby - hugs
Lillibet - glad you seem to be getting on top of things
It's my mum's birthday today and I am off to visit her in Reading where I am taking her out for an Italian meal and then we are going to a piano recital at the Town Hall.
I've got an opera review to write from Thursday - the train journey to and from Reading should be a good opportunity to do that. I'm going on the slow train from Waterloo instead of the fast one from Paddington, not just because it's on my side of town, but also thanks to the deal that Pigsback were doing on SW Trains tickets last monthso I booked everything in advance for all the journeys I knew I had coming up!
Must be off

Hi again, just popped downstairs (at the hospital) while they clean DH´s room and get a drink. He´s going to get spoilt with all these hugs. redruby ((hugs)) maybe safer to just stay with the home which is yours for a while. Llamahead - I used both Lidl and Aldi, and really have not found anything "naff" apart from personal taste of food rather than the quality of it, just have to try. I think (personal opinion) that Aldi has a slight quality edge. Fresh Meat and Veg is good a Lidl, very cheap and flies out of the shelves/fridge so it can only be fresh. We like Aldi Baked Beans, and buy their UHT Skimmed Milk as find no after taste. DS & GF love Aldi´s fresh Pasta, and their sacheted pasta sauces. Though not tried Lidl´s. Lidl often have some "normal" branded goods in whilst Aldi don´t tend to.
My usual stance is that you can buy some quality products at both for the cost of value ones at the other supermarkets, so you may not save a fortune but the quality will be better.
Well done Lilibet I am sure your plan will help. Putting the effort into dressing up a bit always pays off IMHO.

Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?0 -
:hello: Hello!
(((hugs))) to Smokey, you are in my thoughts and prayers just wish I could help in a more practical way!
DG - So glad you have had better news (((hugs)))
(((hugs))) to Redruby and Lillibet
Aussie - stop sulking!;) nobody waves at me at all!
Well I feel much better now I have [strike]been extremely lazy[/strike] rested up, still in pj'sand I have sadly become addicted to knitting my dishcloth and have ordered more cotton (must stay away from ebay!)
I have volunteered to help at our local church toddler group for 1 morning a week and I loved it but found it all a bit tiring on top of the 2 shifts I do at the school and a lent course and my addiction to this site, especially the "shabby chic" thread - now you've started something Haribo and Aussie!:D I so want to make heart sachets and tissue box covers! Heeelp meeee! Is there a cure?:rotfl: Your photos are lovely btw
I was given 24 lovely oranges yesterday as they were going to be thrown away  so I am going to juice some and peel some for putting into smoothie ziplocks in the freezer, (thanks PP for that idea:T , I have salvaged lots of fruit that way)
We got some more free energy saving lightbulbs in the post today from Brit gas so must go find homes for them - think we now have them in all our light fittings now, just the living room fittings to be changed as we still have the old spotlight fittings in. We have a compost bucket in the kitchen that goes up to the compost pile in the garden, all plastic is being reduced or reused as much as possible, slowly but surely I am changing to a greener life.
Have a lovely Saturday!

Glad to hear things are looking better for your DH Donnygirl
(((hugs))) to Smokey, thinking of you
Belated birthday wishes to Shez and Master penguin, hope you had lovely b-days
Urrrgh, woke up this morning with a really sore throat and aching all overI'd promised to take DD to the cinema this afternoon but shes got a cough and cold so we're gonna make a 'cinema' at home and watch a dvd together with some sweets.
OH and his dad working on the house, damp-proofing people have been there this week, thats all done now. We're waiting for someone to come and see about the kitchen, we need a wall knocking down and one bricking up because the layout now is totally impractical.
Me and OH going for a drink together tonight (coke for me), first time in i dont know how long! Just going to the local, nothing special then home for HM chicken curry, rice and naan cos we're too skint for a takeaway lol
Hope everyone has a lovely weekend

Hi everyone. (((hugs))) to all who need them or want one.
OH is out all day today. One DD is baking a chocolate cake and the other is in town with friends so It's a funny day today. I have loads I need to do, just don't know where to start. Lillibet I too should wear my nicer clothes. I feel that I have quite let myself go these past few months, I just seem to weat my jeans and scruffs. I need to colour my hair again as the grey is coming through (and I'm not even 40 yet!!!). When I help OH at work we don't see anyone really (apart from couriers) so I tend to not make an effort there either. I hardly ever wear make up. Apart from last saturday coz OH wanted us to take DDs out for a meal and I had a nice relaxing bath and got more dressed up (though I still wore trousers and I have dresses and skirts in my wardrobe). Think I might just be in a bit of a rut at the mo-no doubt i will pull myself out of it...at some point.
Have a good day everyoneGE 36 *MFD may 2043
