I tried the RoC TMF (almost). Sent back the 50% to get the refund. Was very careful to not use more than what I 'guesstimated' for 50%.
They sent it back to me saying that "We have scientifically weighed the product...........and you've used to much". Basically no refund.
Well in the T&C's it didn't say how to weigh or judge 50%, so I complained to Johnson & Johnson.
They were very good and said it was madness to weigh to a fraction of a gram. They said loads of people had the same silly response from RoC and they'd refund my money.
It came on Monday, but as a postal order! Now the last time I had one of those it was for 10 shillings!!!!!!!!!!!
I didn't know they even still made them.
I read how to cash it (PO), took it out today and lost it on the bus..........ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
It was 2 x £20 ones as well. The ticket inspector got on and I had my travel card in my inside jacket pocket, along with the postal orders. I can only imagine that they fell out then. As when I got to the PO, I didn't have them and I went straight there from the bus.
I've rung the 'tfl' and the local bus company. The man I spoke to cracked up when I asked if anyone had handed them in. Actually he said " Well you can kiss them bye bye" were his exact words.
Thing is we (as a family, 7 of us) are the only ones in this country with our surname. Will that work in my favour? Can anyone cash them?
Tried ringing CS at J&J, but they are closed till Monday. Are they numbered so they can be stopped?
Why oh why didn't they just send me a cheque????????
I'm so annoyed, its not life threatening, but a real b**ger losing £40!
    Any advice???

Ok 1st question is how much does the RoC cost? i.e. I'm amazed at such a large amount of money. Did they give you 40 quid as compensation or was that how much you expected to recieve?

2ndly The Postal orders can be recovered but I'm not sure all the ins and outs. I do know that if you have the stubbs and they haven't been cashed you can reclaim your money... I did it once but the postal orders were bought by me. First you should ring up either royal mail or post office, using "say no to 0870" and ask them what can be done and ask them about the scenario that someone else has managed to cash them all ready.

Then phone CS JJ and ask them if they can find the stubbs and take the appropriate action. I'm pretty sure that the refund from the post office goes to the issuer i.e. JJ in this case so it may be a while before you get your money if at all.

having just read the last 5 pages....with regard to SAE does it mean stamped or unstamped. I was going to suggest that sans should complain to the ASA who will then adjudicate on MKM, however, I noted that Sans did recieve an apology and refund from MKM so I guess that clears it up, however they did say in the T&c's "self addressed envelope" not SAE. So the question of what exactly does SAE mean still has not been resolved, therefore I suggest that someone asks the ASA to give their opinion of what SAE means and whether a consumer should have to pay any postage in a TMF offer. The ASA, however, may not want to reply saying that they will only adjudicate on specific cases - I dunno - but it's worth a try.....

Well I never..............this one did. Is it something to do with using the quote facility do you think?

    wig..............without quoting you................
The RoC TMF cream cost £37.95 in Boots. So it was for a full refund plus P&P. It was an expensive TMF so a lot to lose in one go :(
I'll give J&J a ring tomorrow and see what they say. I won't be holding my breath though!
I'll keep you all updated on the result.

    Hi LL,

Bad luck with the PO, maybe you can claim on your house insurance? You might have an excess so that's probably no good either.

btw it's not "port" it was "Ellesmere Port" i.e. the town where the Asda branch is. :)

Received my cheque for v8 the other day but no stamp on envelope - the postman posted it anyway. I thought someone said it was a new girl at v8 who didnt know what she was doing. I think this is the only tmf that Ive tried that I havent liked and have actually told the truth!!!!!!!!!!

I got my refund for the Schwartz real paste on Saturday. This was also from MKM and I hadn't put a stamp on my envelope as the T&C's stated 'self-addressed envelope' specifically not SAE. My envelope had gone through the franking machine but my cousin received hers with no frank mark and no stamp.

MKM didn't refund the postage on these ones either so if anyone sends any TMF's back to MKM be sure to use a second-class stamp!!
