I've got a theory about this now: both V8 and Schwarz (that's the one that I got a stampless envelope from) TMFs are handled by MKM. I reckon they were both sent out the same day by the same person who didn't know what they were doing.
Yes I read the t&cs carefully, the last time I forgot to send a self addressed envelope for an offer I got my receipt and claim returned to me. Shame nobody has an e-mail address for them. I contacted MKM through website on Monday but have still not had a reply yet. Not amused! I will go on again to find their e-mail now.Tesco points: 101 (£21.50, £19.50, £7.50, £21 & £5)

With so much written about SAE's, and having just sent off a stamped addressed enevlope to claim my free Fertiliser at "PO box 99", this in my mind is setting a precedent for companies not to offer these try me free products.
Ok getting things into perspective its only costing a 2nd class stamp, but arent we forgetting the principal of "Try ME Free" at no cost to the consumer? I wonder what stance Trading standards would take????
Any Views or Iam I nit picking?

You are nit-picking
Well, I really wouldn't mind paying for a second class stamp, if it was something that cost considerably over the price of the stamp.
If it was for something that cost say 50p, then I don't consider it to be worth sending off for. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

I find it annoying when they don't refund postage, I realise 20p is not much to pay for a product, but as you said, it's the principle.0 -
matinee wrote:V8 did not say stamped addressed envelope, it said self addressed envelope in their boxes, which I think is a big difference, they did not say 'SAE,' if they did, I would have put a stamp in it too. I stopped my husaband putting a stamp on it, becasue I know best.
If they send me a cheque without a stamp and I have to pay £1-25, I would leave it and complain.
Just read the terms and conditions of the taste guarantee and it is a SELF addressed envelope - I read it wrong - so Ill be sending an envelope with no stamp on. Just saved myself 20p - am I sad???..0 -
Not that I'm advocating this as a general strategy, but it was one of those things I thought of in bed one morning and tried out, and it worked beautifully (much to my amusement).
I had been asked for an SAE for a try me free, but there was no repayment of postage which irritated me. So I hit on the idea that because the franking machines at the post office were automated and assumed a particular position for the stamp, it would be interesting to put the stamp on the lower left hand corner of the envelope rather than than the top right.
And about 28 days later, I received my cheque in an envelope with a neatly unfranked 2nd class stamp available for peeling off (stick it in a freezer!) lower left, as well as a post office scrawled note explaining the stamp was present. I've never done it again - actually I think postage in general is a bit of a bargain and don't mind paying it, but it did work very nicely indeed and I was grinning for days.0 -
V8 juice
Sent it off few weeks ago without a stamp, but got my cheque today no problem.0 -

Finally spoke to someone yesterday, they apologised and will be refunding me the £1.21 I was charged by the post office for collecting my mail.Tesco points: 101 (£21.50, £19.50, £7.50, £21 & £5)

Well, regarding SAEs, again... Got my cheque from V8/MKM today, with no stamp on the envelope! I didn't have to pay, but am getting seriously annoyed with MKM for doing this (second time for me). The T&Cs stated clearly that it was a self-addressed envelope. :mad:0

Got my V8 check today. although had to use my own stamp. As for the Wilkinsons Razor TMF Offer, was tempted but too much hassle to send back handle...any body going to put them to the test...hate to be the one to open up such letters with mankey hair clogged handle inside....makes my skin crawl thinking about it
