Just found V8 orange juice drink in the fridges at Asda (its a bit like Tropicana) they also do tomato juice and mixed juice - with a money back taste guarantee. Only thing is theyre asking for a sae - naughty. It cost £1.19.

Got my cheque back today, only problem is they didn't bother putting a stamp on my SAE and I had to pay £1.21 to collect it! Does anyone have their e-mail address so I can complain please ?

You are supposed to put a stamp on it. Stamped Addressed Envelope

I thought SAE=Self-Addressed Envelope and SSAE=Stamped Self-Addressed Envelope  so I would've done the same as sans.

I recently had a TMF envelope (an SAE as well) come back with no stamp on it, but I didn't have to pay...

    Who knows?

I just put a second class stamp on them if they ask for an SAE

Seems if they are being returned to you with no postage on, they intended for you to put a stamp on?

V8 did not say stamped addressed envelope, it said self addressed envelope in their boxes, which I think is a big difference, they did not say 'SAE,' if they did, I would have put a stamp in it too. I stopped my husaband putting a stamp on it, becasue I know best.

If they send me a cheque without a stamp and I have to pay £1-25, I would leave it and complain.

But this was the first (and only) time it came back with no stamp. I never put stamps on when they ask for an SAE, and they come back franked or with a stamp on. I dunno...

It would really be helpful if companies stated exactly what they wanted...

Has anyone had their Tropicana money back, BTW?

I agree, it would be helpful if they stated exactly.

I am all confused now as I always thought SAE was a stamped addressed envelope, now I wont know what to do next time,

To stamp or not to stamp?

    I haven't had tropicana yet..............

I got the money back from Tropicana few weeks ago, they did not send a cheque, but all in coins in a package. Hope you get yours soon.

    Definition
    sae UK, SAE
ABBREVIATION FOR stamped addressed envelope or self-addressed envelope: an envelope with a stamp and your name and address on it, which you send inside another envelope to an organisation when you want a reply:
Write to the above address, enclosing an sae.

    Hi thanks for that,

Where did you get the definition from?

Finally got the V8 juice today and can confirm it asks for a self addressed envelope, so OP who was charged for no stamp should definitely complain!

I've got a theory about this now: both V8 and Schwarz (that's the one that I got a stampless envelope from) TMFs are handled by MKM. I reckon they were both sent out the same day by the same person who didn't know what they were doing.

I am glad Dormouse has agreed with what I have been saying about the self addressed envelope in V8 juice carton. I shall wait and see what happen to my refund as I did not put a stamp on.
