Bras

Hi Jazz, for years I fooled myself that a was "smaller" than I actually was because I liked the styles I saw in the lingerie shops. when I finally got measured properly the bras available in my size were really frumpy, including M&S. The styles in Figleaves were really lovely though, but on the expensive side, which as a dedicated moeysaver, didn't appeal to me. Then i found Ebay. OK, you can get some second hand, cheap trash there, but if you look on the lingerie site and find a seller who has an Ebay shop, you'll find some gorgeous styles at around £5-£15. They are usually last seasons styles, but honestly, Does that matter. Now I feel sexy and comfortable all the time.
PS, MATH, I hope Mrs MATH puts your jockeys on a shrink wash.:smileyhea A SMILE COSTS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING0 -
i'm not that well-endowned in the breast department, but i do loe M&S bras.
I have tried others from like Debenhams and BHS, but they always feel different.
I love DKNY lingerie, which is best brought in the sales of course, saw a couple this time round, but didnt have my size, but fitted my sister in law, shame, cos they were £36 originally, and reduced to £9. and nowadays you cant get a decent bra for £9. IMHO
If you've never ordered from Figleaves (https://www.figleaves.com) before, sign up and you will automatically get £10 off your order, if you spend over £40
Figleaves is good atm, cos there is a sale on, plus delivery and returns are free.0 -
https://www.brastop.com - They don't have as large a selection as, say, figleaves, but the prices for brands are very reasonable. I recently got a Playtex bra in my "awkward" size from brastop for £7.95.Sealed Pot Challenge 5 - #1742 :j0

Ha ha I was waiting for that one!:p0 -
personally, i think bras are rather over priced, and this is coming from someone who is far from having to buy the over-the-shoulder-boulder-holders with built in scaffolding.
whats even more annoying is trying to find underwear in a style and colour you like (whats with all this bloody itchy lace nonsense?!!!), you then have to try and find cechs so you can match collar and cuffs so to speak. The OH doesnt understand why i feel so adamant about being matching, but its ok for him, he only has to worry about his bottom half (and he goes commando more often than not), so who is he to comment?!
i mean, what if i got run over by a bus? i'd be laughed out of a&e if i went in wearing a pink bra and purple knickers. and sods law it would be one of those days where you hadnt bothered to shave either....oooh the shame:rotfl: !!!!!!!!

Many years ago I was properly measured for a bra and bought Warners french collection,an underwired bra that supported me perfectly, I have a very narrow back but big boobs.... 36FF. Warners have recently discontinued the french collection and I have tried several other manufacturers to no avail, they just do not fit the same......so now I am in a cleft stick........ I did buy several when I was told they were going to stop making them, they were not cheap either £21.00 each..... but eventually I am going to have to try and find another manufacturer who makes a suitable bra for me. I am sure I am not the only person in this situation, a good fitting bra is essentail both to your appearance and I believe to your health.

As someone who has only just come out of nursing/maternity bras within the last 2 months, I have to say that a plain, ordinary M&S bra properly fitted feels like a total luxury. In the last 28 months I've spent 42 weeks being pregnant and ballooning up to the size of a large elephant, then 18 months breastfeeding - losing and gaining weight with no real sense to it.
I started my pregnancy at a modest 36C and finished it at 38F. Spent most of my breastfeeding months at 36DD/E and was finally measured in M&S last week at 36D. I couldn't possibly keep up with the expense of searching out pretty bras that unhooked for feeding etc when I was changing size so much. The Asda George and M&S ones I've had were certainly functional and comfortable but didn't do much for my already fragile body image! :rotfl:
I was clearing out the stored pre pregnancy clothes in the attic recently and our local charity shops got some beautiful (and what seem unbearably dainty) bras from us. I could go out and buy equally pretty bras in my new size but actually, having spent so long in dowdy rags, a good fitting, comfy bra at a reasonable price is all I'm looking for now.
Of course, one or two nicer ones as part of a set for nights in don't go amissbut day to day ones - I say wear what's comfy and to heck with where it's from.
May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0
