When I order online I tend to use codes to get a reduction in the price. Do most of you CC deal people use codes for points instead? At what level of points is it more worthwhile? Is it sometimes best to do more smaller £50 shops?
I am afraid I have just wasted my tokens in the past by spending them in-store (my husbands fault) but I've hidden £50 away and want to spend on days and meals out in future.

I have always found them very efficient and promptly despatched, never more than 48 working hours.
Also, the telephone FREEPHONE help is obliging and friendly.
I did the first one or two online with them talking me through the process - sometimes, voucher numbers have little 'moodies'. The staff know how to overcome these.
    Enjoy!

You're having a laugh aren't you? If you pay in full with Clubcard Vouchers, it isn't costing YOU anything!!

If you don't like it, you don't have to collect Clubcard Points or shop at Tesco

You need to have a think about how the Clubcard scheme is funded. Do you think Tesco pay for it ALL?

First of all, there is no NEED to be rude to me. 'Quote Pls be nice to all MoneySavers. There's no such thing as a stupid question, and even if you disagree courtesy helps. ' FORUM ETIQUETTE

All I was saying is that if you go direct to, say, Haven holidays, and pay cash you will get a discount, however, if you state you are using vouchers you pay the full price and no discount applies .

And I dont think Im the only one that 'doesnt like it' hense to some comments already on here from the other person who I happen to agree with ' However, you cannot book online, only through Haven Call Centre. Not a problem so I thought. Or is it? When you call to make your booking with them, once you tell them you will be using your Tesco Clubcard Tokens they adjust the price of the holiday BEFORE using said tokens so that it costs more in the first place and I am therefore saving NOTHING!! I was quoted £375 for the same holiday that costs £241 online, minus my clubcard tokens = £260 therefore actually costing me MORE. That’s hardly fair is it?

I feel I have in essence wasted my quarterly vouchers which I spend large amounts at Tesco every week to accrue.

If you're happy to pay over the odds to what others have to pay, that, is completly up to you. :o

Firstly, If you consider my post to be rude, please report it.

Secondly, what I DID say was: If you pay in full with Clubcard Vouchers, it isn't costing you anything.

In your case you had a certain combination of cash and vouchers which resulted in you getting a bum deal.

If you look at it from Haven's point of view, they are protecting their business. What is the point in them giving away free holidays when they can sell them for cash? They can't pay their staff or bills in Clubcard Vouchers after all.

If you don't like a deal, avoid it.

Haven are clearly regretting joining the scheme, so are tailoring their deal prices to protect their turnover until they have been in the scheme for the period of time they agreed to. They will then undoubtedly leave, or maintain higher prices for Deal bookings.

    Tesco Clubcard almost bankrupted MFI

Motorpoint won't tolerate giving away too many cars before they leave.

Hotel deals have already become almost pointless.

  • of course we all feel sorry for tescos....but it is hard to think you have enough tokens for a nice holiday and then find a , they won't let you go to Devon cliffs and b, you have to go in April as that is the only time you can afford. Me and three kids heading to Wales now in two weeks....pray for sun pray for sun. I am going to enjoy myself what ever but:cool:am going to go all out to save for next three years or so and the next holiday will be to somewhere hot hot hot!:cool::cool::cool:
:j I sometimes give myself admirable advice, but am incapable of taking it.

It is really only worth paying for holidays with Tesco vouchers if you have loads of points. I usually save between £250 and £375 Tesco vouchers (£1000 to £1500 worth of holiday tokens) per year which is usually enough to pay for the whole holiday. We usually have a week in France in August with the whole family. If you only have a small amount of clubcard points you will probably be much better off spending them on something else as you could get the same holiday in France with a cheaper company if you do your research (or book with the holiday park direct).

We always book our holidays very early (about a year in advance) and still get the early booking discounts and other discounts that are applicable, e.g., free child places. Last year we went to Turkey for a week in August and got a free child place. The only discount we didn't get was the "booking online discount" which was about £200. But as we had enough holiday tokens to pay for about 90% of the holiday, it was still worth doing!

They are valid for 6 months after you convert them.
