Like previously mentioned it's sounding like a false positive.
A google check reveals a few more complaints but nothing from trusted Malware removal sites.
What I would do is run at least 2 online anti viral scans - Kaspersky, Nod32 or F Secure - If they report a virus we are in business. If not this further confirms in my mind a False positive.
Update you current definitions and re run the scan - if this is a FP hopefully they would have released a fix0 -

Still not a single sign of any other virus engine detecting it. Surely if it were genuine at least one other AV would have flagged it. Found a reference on the German Kaspersky forums and they reckon it's a false positive and you're better off not deleting anything."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

I am using eTrust PestPatrol and it has found it and quarantined it on one of my computers.0

That's still the same AV I'm afraid. It's computer associates who also use the radialpoint antivirus engine. I think the fact that another brand of the exact same engine picking it up without any single other virus engine even having it added to their definitions still screams false positive to me. Have you submitted your log/file etc to eTrust?"She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

Hello,
I'm a first time poster, however vyseyboy, if you've nothing to add to help people sort there problems out, then don't post anything yourself.
I believe I've fixed this problem on my PC, I'm also using PCguard from telewest broadband (Blueyonder) which was running on version 5.### or something like that, it was version 5. though.
I shutdown PCguard and then visited Virgin's Homepage and logged into the selfcare, downloaded the lastest PCguard client, and installed the latest version of PCguard, which is version 6.0.1.22212 (it also has the Virgin logo on it in stead of the little grey safe that was on the task bar), once this was installed I ran a complete scan of my PC, and guess what, it didnt find this Pigeon AXLM registery entry, and I've not had the message come up all afternoon, which was poping up every 15 minutes or so.
Hope this helps.
Good luck.
PS: If it works, good job for us first time poster ey?0 -

Sounds like they've updated the latest definitions files to take account of the false positive. I think it must now be considered a false positive if the same antivirus no longer detects it with an even newer definitions file."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

I have just loaded a fresh copy of PC Guard as suggested and it seems to have cured the problem.

You're assuming I can get my head round the nerdy language they use! my point is they need to put it in language non teks like me can understand!
Thanks anyway...Named after my cat, picture coming shortly0 -

I've just had a re read of the malware removal guide and I can't see any excuse at all for not being able to understand it. It's written in a way for somebody without any technical knowledge to be able to follow the steps. And I've not heard of a non techie yet not able to understand it. It's limited only if you don't understand what "click" means or be able to use a mouse. I'm not sure exactly what you're talking about by "nerdy language". If you come on the board in an attitude of being adversarial then you're only making it difficult for yourself, it's not the other posters here. There's even a specific sticky set up for looking up and asking what terms mean. There's no unnecessary jargon used that you're implying. What exactly is the problem with the thread?"She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"
