How can it not be decent software if it's picked up the malware before any other software seems to have done? Surely (to me at least) that's a good thing. It's bad that it can't do anything about it, but that's another matter.
As to "only visiting the bbc", etc. In all likelihood you have had the virus for some time and it's only now been picked up.- = I also recognise the Robins and beep for them = -0 -

Because that's the usual MO of a false positive. False positives DO happen and they're only corrected for if people actually bother to submit the file to the program makers to analyse and confirm. And PC Guard isn't known to be great, especially for detection accuracy. How come there's no indication yet of ANY of the decent AV and AS programs detecting it? I've never even heard of only ONE antivirus software being able to detect a virus and none of the others, especially one not known to be one of the best. It's been a couple of days now and there's still no sign of even a second app to spot it."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

I'm getting the same popup from Verizon's Internet Security Suite. I've used Adaware and Spybot, and did a system restore, but so far the popup still appears. Hope one of the bigger anti-virus companies figures out a fix...0

I've looked at the "techie stuff" forum, it's all Greek to someone like me! Has anyone got a cure that us "normal" folk can understand? I'm getting the same dire warnings from PC Guard too.
Why can't geeks talk in normal language anyway?! They seem to think that the rest of the human race should be able to grasp their technobabble! Make clear & simple so that us normals can understand what you're saying!

Well, you listen to what they say, let them explain. If you don't understand something, do the research yourself! Learn!

That still makes me think it's a false positive. Verizon is the same antivirus engine as PCGuard and Netguard. They're all essentially the same thing, so looks like there's still no second app to detect this virus. As far as I can tell there's nothing to fix. Why don't one of you submit this virus? You've got nothing to lose if it turns out to be a genuine one and if it is a false positive it'll help an awful lot of people.
So far it seems only the radialpoint antivirus engine (the basis for PC Guard, Netguard, Verizon) is detecting this and it has a history of being a poor antivirus engine throwing up false positives."She is quite the oddball. Look at all the people who're making their very first post....
I don't think it's a serious discussion anymore...Russia is HERE0 -
Can I suggest that who ever has this 'infection' submits the affected file to virustotal.
This site will submit it to muliple anti virus scanners and if any vendor does not detect it they will be sent a copy.

I got the messages and found a fix. I'd already looked at this site (after googling the spyware) and I thought I would be public spirited and share my "fix". Oh dear I'm a first timer! Well I'm back to my life now.....happy posting to you old hands.....0 -
Sorry, I'm another of those pesky first time posters!
My PC Guard keeps finding Pigeon AXLM and can't delete it. I've tried to quarantine it and then delete which seems to work, but then it comes back next time I start up. I thought I would try doing the same in safe mode with Restore switched off, but PC Guard won't run in Safe Mode. (and just doing a restore doesn't get rid of it)
The location is reported as -
hkey_local_machine\system\currentcontrolset\enum\root\legacy_evteng
However, when I go to this location with regedit, there is no sign of it.
I dare not mess with the registry, because I don't know what I'm doing!0 -

I can't submit anything because only PC Guard finds it. When I go to the location reported, there is nothing to be seen.
I just want to stop the damn pop up warnings. :mad:0
