Blimmin' fab idea for a thread! :D I've been nodding along to most of them - especially Tines "That's her. She'll sort out your credit cards for ya." I get that a lot.

It's too early for me to be firing on all cylinders inspiration wise but I do have *one* to add

Does anyone else find it strange lecturing your parents about how to manage their finances?

  • You know when you obsessively read any thread for tips- just in case you miss something. You want a debt management company to ring you so you can try out zincoxides methods to break them. You feel more confident about managing everything.

    When have 'yellow sticker' weeks.

    Quidco is your home page.

When your meals are planned 14 days in advance and are non negotiable.

When you car is older than you....purposly so when it dies you can get some £££ back off the scrap man.

When you refuse to use a face wipe with out rinsing it then using it wipe 5 things in your bathroom before finally letting it rest down the loo. (after you wiped the seat of course)

Domino's just isnt worth it unless you can get a 555 deal, with discount AND a free garlic bread.

You cook your own rice when mates order in a take away.

You slip you own mini bottle of wine in for a meal out, eat loads of carbs mins before and just eat a starter claiming to be on a diet/bloated.

You get palpitations if uswitch can undercut your current supplier by a £2-4

Your kids think a bbq and playing in a muddy stream is waaaay better than disney land.

You kids think cornwall is abroad.

sun holidays are an untapped goldmine so lets moan that they are all crap and lets keep them for our selves!

You know - well I know I'm a true MSE DFW - when my `offset pikeying' works. ;););) Well that's what I call it.....
Bit like offset banking but I really do enjoy it...it's like a big old game...:T
I've also trained OH in Offset Pikeying advance techniques such as Clubcard wombling lol. Mind you he didn't need a lot of teaching! :D:D

For example this week I swapped a trout (caught fresh on Sunday) in exchange for a rabbit joint c/o my cookery-mad friend (will taste very nice with cider, onions and carrots cooking round its bum!) = cost zero.

Free buffet lunch provided at work combined with a Freecycle wooden Ikea CD rack (which I wanted but was loath to buy).=cost Zero. Pertrol paid for by Mystery Shop and luncheon voucher sale (see below)

Pigsback `clicks only no spends' £10 Boots voucher to buy toiletries with. Cost = zero

Sold £4 luncheon vouchers to a friend after doing a free survey. Cost: Free vouchers = £4 profit

Went to Ikea to nab their free wood to make a henhouse. Screws and nails for assembly also free (from a mate who didn't need them). Selling luncheon voucher paid for £4 petrol

Mystery shop paid £10 for doing Spar - £5 of which was part of the assignment to buy groceries. Lunch and tea for two days provided for.Petrol from mystery shop and luncheon voucher money.

    See what i mean

    I love `off-set' pikeying! lol:D :D

I might have to trademark the concept:eek:

    Have a good day all :A :A
