I'm planning on getting married inAughust 2009
I've already been looking at loads of dresses and OMG some of them are absokutely stunning!
I looked in one bridal shop at the weekend and nearly fainted at the prices, but it looks like i can pick up my dress and the bridesmaid dresses all for the same price as just a wedding dress in a shop! :j
I just have a question, I'm going to go to some bridal shops to try on dresses to get a feel of different styles etc, would it be cheeky to ask them to measure me and have a copy of the measurements?
I wont be doing this until after the new year as I'm planning on dropping a couple of dress sizes, but I like to plan ahead! lol
Ask they can only say no. If you're embarrassed about asking make something up about losing weight and needing to know what your measurements are now - if you're ordering a dress from eBay you will need waist to floor or shoulder to floor - not sure how you can wangle that one coz you're not likely to grow any taller :rotfl:
Hopefully they'll just do it anywayOfficially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended

My best mate is like that - I have wanted to hide at her cheek on more than one occasion but she's great if you want a deal on anything :rotfl:Officially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended

Sorry to ask this as i'm sure it's ben mentioned on the thread already, but it took me hours to readh through it the other day and dont fancy doing it again!
I went to a bridal shop today just to look around and get a price on kilt hire, anyway they practically pounced on me and got me to try on some dresses (not that I minded lol) and I tried 2 on, and they were absolutely gorgeous!
I welled up at the sight of me, I really looked stunning, and for me to think that of myself is saying something! :rotfl:
Anyway, the dresses which i loved were made by the same designer, which I've found online, do you think i'd be able to get a copy made by one of the china ladies? The dresses were £500, and tbh I would pay that for it but if i can get it made for cheaper then all the better!0 -
MillyBridal.com certianly make replicas. You just need to get in touch with pics of the dress you like, and any modifications you might want, and they will quote you for it. Replicas appear to come in at around the same price as their own designs - around the $220 mark plus P&P. So with the US exchange rate the way it is, you'll probably get a dress for about £150!
Also, some of the Chinese shops only make replicas. Have a look at LandyBridal and see if the dress you like is on their site. If it's a mainstream designer, it probably will be.0 -

If you can't see the ones you are looking for just ask her and they may be able to do it for you.Officially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended

Landy makes a lot more dresses than are listed on her site, also it might be listed in the 'others' section aswell, but you'd have to go by what it looks like as they don't seem to have all the names there to search by, it's a case of trawling through all the pages to see if you can spot it.
The best thing to do is email a picture of it so she can quote you for it, or send a link to the Romantica of Devon website so she can see the dress.0
