Ebay Wedding Dresses

morning guys, after reading your posts im not 100% sure if I should get a dress from ebay or not. The dress I like is this http://www.maggiesottero.com/dress.aspx?pageSize=64&showAll=1&style=J141C and asapbay will do it for £95 all in, but I reckon there is a lot that can go wrong with it - will the gatherings on the skirt go well or look flat etc has anyone bought a similar dress and so they have any pictures of their finished product? it might help to reassure me!)

I think everyone buying a dress from China takes a leap of faith, but I have read so many reviews of ASAP and Milly, and I have on the whole only read good things.
There appears to be a lot of urban myths doing the rounds, and I suspect a lot of them come from bridal stores who will loose revenue if everyone opts for Chinese dresses.0 -
Have you tried emailing landy and asking her for pictures of finished dresses in that style?A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

My leap of faith paid off. If you're not prepared to risk it you're going to have to pay the price tag for the original.
You could always post a wanted add on one of the wedding forum sites or keep an eye on eBay for one to come up.
Or you could order from Landy then if you're really not happy with it resell it and look for an original.
Final choice is up to you....................................
Just found this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Wedding-Dress-Bridal-4-6-8-10-12-14-16-18-Capri-Lynette_W0QQitemZ350065978927QQihZ022QQcategoryZ63851QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD2VQQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1638Q2em122

Thankyou for your kind comments regarding my dress
I personally would do it all again, whats £95 to £££££'s for an original???? And i was prepared if it wasnt right to had lost the money, not saying we could afford to lose the money, but by doing so i could have the dress of my dreams, otherwise it would of been an off the peg one! We all had doubts and reservations about ordering, but i think i am right in saying that we are all happy with the dress's we have recieved
Only you know what to do though, good luck in your decision.
Has anyone heard from littlel yet???0 -
Woooooooo the tracking is showing my dress as signed for! Unfortunately I'm at work, but I did leave a note on my door saying please take any parcels to a neighbour to sign for, so hopefully someone has got it for me.
Don't know when I'll get to try it on now though, my bridesmaid is going on holiday tonight and it was her I wanted to do it with first (her dress should be in the package too), but she isn't back for 9 days and I don't think I can wait that long, plus I need to order my veil this weekend for it to come in time for my hair trial at the end of the month.
But at least I know (I think) that it has arrived, so a little relieved now.0 -
Honeypop how exciting :j i am sure you will find someone to help you put it on, bet you cant wait to get home now! Keep us updated on how it is0

Seconded - motion carried :j
I didn't try on the original - and panicked when it arrived especially with the size of the package. Was still worried until I had it on, seen friend's faces and I'd taken some photos.
I knew it was gorgeous when MIL cried when she saw the pics. Bless her :AOfficially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended

Boo hoo I do NOT have my dress. I just arranged to try it on round my bridesmaids house, she's leaving at midnight and won't be home from work until 10pm but insisted I could go round tonight before she left. Then when I got in from work, I found that they had ignored my note on the front door to let a neighbour sign for my parcel and they took it to the local sub-post office which is now closed so I can't collect it. They can only re-deliver it to my address, not my work, which is no good as I can't be here to sign for it on a weekday, nor can I collect it during opening hours until Saturday.
So I have another 3 days to wait, which isn't too bad, at least I know it's there waiting for me! Then can try it on next Thursday when friend gets back from hols. Flipping inconvenience she is lol!!0
