Ungrateful people who dont say thanks

I spend a great deal of my time on this site mainly helping others. I never until now asked for a thank you, because thankfully most people are grateful, and long may that continue.

However, today I share my knowledge with a user with this post

He thanks the first user, and rightly so. I make numerous replies sharing my knowledge as I do video editing. No thanks nothing. So for the first time I ask this person to thank people not just me. He/she thinks I am funny. I have 25 years of experience using computers and its got me know where, no job, !!!!!! all. I do browse these forums, yes for something to do, but sadly I lost faith in some ungrateful arrogant people.

Now don't get me wrong, I see countless thanks in the forums that are thank you just for posting. Now I think help deserves a thank you. But tonight this person after there reply is getting right up my nose.

Is it so much had work for people to say thank you

Come on, it doesn't cost anything to say thanks and it's not a big deal.

If we want folk to give advice freely then expecting a little recognition and ordinary politeness isn't unreasonable.

Serious problem get considered replies from two MSE'ers but no thanks and no come back. It is really too much to expect posters to make an acknowledgement for the time effort and expertise people freely offer?

I ain't rising to the occasion. I see plenty of posts with thanks for replying, not for answering a question or giving advice. Now I reserve judgement on any posts like that, but I do feel an answer to a question, whether its what the user likes it or not, deserves a thanks. I gave sound advice, I get nothing for a thank you, but it makes you feel appreciate. With people like that they devalue your advice. But I do feel people like this don't deserve anything, and I certainly got him on my ignore list so hopefully wont see or hear of them again.

I believe the user is abrupt and replying like that shows just what sort of person they are.
