manners are free, i wonder why ppl will go to the trouble to get what they want, and be absolutely rude over it, xx0

Everyone on here is usually fantastic....it seems you only need the oddone or two to 'upset the apple cart'
I really love this site....all comp posters are great :heartsmil and those that win prizes and offer them to others are the 'cream of the crop'
(My quoting day today!;) )Thanks to all comp posters:ADo not take life too seriously; you will never get out of it alive0 -
If there's one thing that drives me nuts, it's bad manners!
It would be a much nicer/happier world if we all got the thanks we are due ... however small the gesture.
It's a sad fact that some people are just plain ignorant and so wrapped up in themselves they couldn't care less about others' kindness towards them. I suppose we should feel sorry for them ... they can't be happy people.
I'm always holding doors open for people, young and old, and sometimes just get pushed out of the way in response. I still do it, but now sometimes say in a loud voice when I'm ignored ... "Thank you so much!" I don't half get some funny looks, but I don't care, it makes me feel better!
Rant over
Kirsteen, Ryan85k and I'm sure the vast majority of MSE'ers are very kind and thoughtful people and we musn't let the awful behaviour of the minority change our own conduct or our fundamental faith in human nature.

I Cannot believe that there are people like the ones you are referring to I hope they are reading this and if they are then shame on them. ,
Its a real shame that the girl who wanted to meet her band missed out , thats really heartbreaking, children really benefit from comps like these and they are priceless to them my two children are still going on about a panto that we went to see at xmas from winning a family ticket it was their first panto and they will never forget it a great experience for all of the family better than any present.March GC 01-29th £458.77 / £500.00.:j NSD 6/15

Shocking to read this post! I have only given one win away and the girl was lovely and polite. There are sadly some v selfish people around

It's horrible that some people don't even realise how far a little thank you goes. I've never been in the position of winning something that I couldn't use myself, but if I were to win something, for example tickets I couldn't use, I would like to think that I could offer them to someone who would appreciate it!2008 wins: £5615 2009 wins: £2832 2010 wins: £1265 2011 wins: £1888 2012 wins: £1000 spa voucher0

I'm really shocked to read other's experiences and quite upset too. I've not really won much to give away, but the odd bits I have offered have been gratefully received and I have been thanked so it makes me sad that others haven't been. I guess there are always the ones who try to spoil things and who are only out for themselves. The thing is, we shouldn't let people like that win. Hopefully they're few and far between, and the rest are all wonderful :T

Reading this thread is so sad. What is so hard about a quick thank you to show that somebody else's kindness is appreciated :beer:Thank you to all posters:beer:

I would like to say a big public thank you (they know who they are!!) I congratulated someone on their win a while back, a genuine thank you, saying I had entered that particular competition and wished that I had won! Then a couple days later the same person offered the tickets on this forum, and I was thrilled to be the first person to say "ooooh yes please"
Of course, I kept in touch with them, and let them know the tickets have arrived... then later on let them know what a great day my hubby and son had at the show...
In the same spirit, I offered some tickets on this forum, that I had won, and have had a really enthusiastic reply from someone who would love to go..... the tickets went off to her first class today.....I hope she has a great day.
Last month I won two other tickets, that I gave to a chap at work.... He offered to pay for them, but they were a freebie to me, and they arrived just 2 days before the event... so there was no way I would have been able to sell them via ebay or anything like that in time.. so I refused payment, and the chap and his wife had an absoutely brilliant day (well, it was Autosport International, so the chap did.. can't speak for his wife!! )
It's great to be able to share these things around, after all we all enter together, its just the luck of the draw as to who wins..
An email or two just to say thank you takes but a moment...2011: £10 Sports Direct Voucher, Peppa Pig Wii Game, Trivial Pursuit Card Game, £100 Chat magazine win, Dance workout dvd, Grease wii game,0 -
I'm sitting here stunned & saddened by the people who didn't engage in even basic manners
However, weigh against that the heaps of lovely, polite, friendly members we have in our little corner of MSE-World & I am back in balance again!
Sad because you don't know what to do? Comping question? Take a look in the Comping Guide to find out0
