  • Evening all.
Just a quick scant through the threads, DH came home yesterday - Now he is doing my head in!!!! Read your posts from last night, mine is slightly different in that it takes a couple of days to get used to him being home. My house was extremely tidy and clean and now it looks like a bomb has been let off! The kids messed about at tea time, 'daddy I want to dance' says dd2, 'ok then honey course you can' says daddy - arghhhhhh!!! Lost the plot, shouted lots, apologised to girls, not their fault and then dd1 says 'mummy it's ok, it's not your fault, you can't help shouting' - guilt trip or what!

Hi nickysnackynoo (I think thats right) and dithering doormouse. I've only been on here this last week and it is
    1. Very good at getting you motivated - everyone is brilliant
    2. Hillarious!!!

Pigpen hope your backs a bit better tonight and I'm def going to use your tacticks(that doesn't look right) with the binbag in the girls room. Don't think I could actually follow through! with it though, but will try.

Only on here as DH has gone to the pub!
Anyway, not done much flying today as, when DH comes home my whole body just collapses, it doesn't help with all the flying either, but ladies just to let you know that it is worth it as, when he came home he asked if I was pregnant. I said yeah funny and he said well the last time the house was this clean you were!!!!!!!!! He did laugh mind, but at least my efforts where noticed.
Right off now, need to read rest of posts before he gets home.
Need to sort my life out! :T

Dusty, if you can that would be great, I've got a 7 inch deep planter (long one) they would grow in there wouldn't they? I can pick them as I want them then :D

Engadine, no that would be sensible, not something our country is any good at.

One thing I miss is my green waste bin, last 'district' council did them but this one doesn't (see they don't even have the same policy across the county!) I thought of a composting box but with not knowing how long we'll be here for (tenancy ends at the end of September if she wants us out) it's putting me off a little. Going to have to take the grass clippings to the tip or add them to a pile we found under a bush in the garden, which must be what those without cars do.

taffy I am really pleased your efforts were noticed, mine sometimes get noticed but more in the 'I can't find anything because you tidy everything away' sort of fashion.
One day I might be more organised...........

  • Thank you for the hello's and advice !!

Not much flying done today, I've worked my socks off this first week(it actually feels like I've worked a proper week and having the weekend off-like a normal person!!)

The washing and ironing is all done for the week(a first !!!)-nearly ready for the 'monday madness' school run(I can't believe it !!)

I really think I maybe onto something-even my completely non-observant DH said the house looks immaculate(no prompting or hinting-amazing)

    p.s its not immaculate-but I'll keep trying !!

Thanks all.. no my backs still killing.. it is actually the muscle around my shoulder blade I think.. but it freaking hurts.. serves me right for getting out of bed and going to the loo with my eyes closed in the dark at 4am.. and for leaving a box in the middle of the floor.. it was quite entertaining though.. heehee.. if it had happened to someone else I'd be in stitches!!

To make matters worse I bit a large chunk of the inside of my cheek while messing with my prawn crackers and made a huge huge blood blister which I chewed off and then pulled the droopy skin off.. and wiped blood on my VERY VERY VERY squeamish fainting husband!! LMAO.. then my sis came round and gave him a dried fish.. she had bought some for her cats and had the box in her bag.. she keeps them in there so her cats don't eat them all in one go! my cats didn't think much to them and hubby wasn't impressed either but I'm pretty sure Tiddles will eat them in the morning!

I have large inflated balloons stuck over my walls and ceilings after being rubbed on DD3's hair.. they look like multicoloured slugs!!

Oooh.. we had an educational discussion earlier.. I found a caterpillar on the dirty washing so we grabbed it.. looked at its legs, and its face.. and its poo!!.. then looked it up online and talked about it.. then took it home to its 'mummy' in he tree.. It was a Juniper Webworm for anyone else boring enough to look it up!!

Dithering Dormouse - welcome  Just do a bit off each day and gradually it'll get better. Don't try and do everything at once o you'll burn out
    Good luck

Big big (((hugs))) to you and A and W, and you know where we are ...

Pigpen, we get those, it's a moth not a flutterby so shove it back outside! We always have to research bugs etc DS finds, he refuses to put them back until we find out what it is, after getting his brother to pick it up usually because he doesn't like touching most of them, he has this thing about saving green fly, he calls them his 'friends' grrrr I don't want the pesky things near my plants!

Sorry to hear your back is no better, at least you know why now :rotfl: what are you like. You can join me in the 'bruised and battered because I leave things lying around' as I tripped on a bag yesterday in my bedroom when my hands were full of washing, fell splat on the bed smacking my shins on the frame which are now purple :rotfl: oh and bursting my nose which I think is what keeps leaking red stuff again :o

Right, registered for paperfree BT bills save me money (discount is 50p now but £1.25 in April) and filing! Paperfree from gas/electric which will also save on filing but no discount. I was right those meter readings are over what we have used, the gas we haven't even used that amount now which is 14 days later....electric is more now but would have likely been slightly less on that day. Will do banking paper free in a mo. I will reduce how much paperwork I have to deal with!!!

evening all just before I go to bed.
Had a great day, drove to Momouth (over 2 hours cos of roadworks) to see our neighbours that moved at New Year. It was their daughter's 3rd birthday. My 2 were SO excited to be seeing their friends again, it was lovely. They had a great time at the party and then we stayed a few hours afterwards, got them in their jammies and drove home this evening. The whole way back DS was all "can they come and play at our house", "can they come without their Mummy and Daddy", " can they come for a sleepover", "can we go for a sleepover" etc etc. Its lovely but breaking my heart all over again. They've ad the last 15 months, which is a long time when ou are 3 or 4, living out of each others pockets, playing every day (none of them were at school yet), going in and out each others gardens, having tea together several times a week, having barbeques, playing cricket on the field in front of our house, going to the park, learning to ride their bikes, just all the best bits of being 3 or 4, together, and now we'll be lucky to see them once a month. I felt it was really special friendship and now it can't be the same. Their Mum, my friend C, was a fantastic support to me all through my pregnancy, and when DD2 was born etc, I really really really miss her. She is expecting now, due in Oct and so get-togethers will be even harder as she is tired etc, it just won't be the same :cry:

Anyway enough of the boo hoo, LO awake for a feed, last one before I go to bed (for a few hours anyway ...)

Oh and we had a curry tonight, I ate so much I feel sick and have prob put on the 3.5 lbs again

  • Hey everyone - hope you are all having a good weekend ;)

Michelle - your pic of baby is amazing!

Hello to nickysnackynoo and dithering dormouse (and anybody else who is joining :o )

Engadine - not sure if your council do this but EAC have blue bags (for extra paper recycling) that can be collected foc from one of the cleansing depots. They will only collect extra paper in the blue bags  might be worth a call/e-mail. I know the lady next door has an extra brown bin - if the weather calms down a bit and I see her - I will ask.

It seems really strange that they would charge for an additional bin when you would be reducing the amount they would have to landfill? Although EAC is just as frustraiting, we have waste x 1.5 bins paper/cardboard x 1 and garden x1. The reason we don't get a black box collection is " your road isn't wide enough" ahem, you can get milk lorries, tractors, artic's and when it is used for a diversion buses down our road and traffic can pass both ways  One of these days I might have enough time on my hands to request another waste bin so that my recycling doesn't have to live in the kitchen and make it look messy :p :rotfl: Although I would only get annoyed with myself for landfilling something needlessly :rotfl:

Anyway - really disspointed with myself today. I had a whole heap of jobs to do and by the time I finally got us all home just didn't have the energy - and now I can't sleep because I keep on thinking I should have done something!

I am hoping tomorrow will be better but ds has another party :rotfl:
