Are you really opposed to the bar jobs? I've done it in the past and actually quite enjoyed it - it's tiring but it's over at the end of the day and no worries.Mortgage OP 2025 £7550/7000Mortgage OP 2024 £7700/7000

no NHS Direct/NHS24 type call centres near you? They need Out of hours workers?
Non medical peeps to take calls then pass them on, and it pays well enough.I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....(it's part of my charm!)0 -
I think what you are doing is a good idea, too many women put their lives on hold and miss out on good careers.
As for fill in jobs, petrol station, care homes, security guard, night cleaner or shelf stacker.Barclaycard 3800

How far is your local hospital? A+E need reception staff 24 hours a day as well as auxiliary nursing staff on the wards and for that as long as you are keen, caring and reliable they are pretty much open to anyone!! (not that I'm saying your not anyone, but you know what I mean - the job doesn't need any particular experience - phew think I've dug myself out!)
How about AQA?? It's classed as self employed though so I don't know how that would work.
Library assistants at the weekends? Estate agency weekend staff?

I haven't got a degree for AQA. Local hospital is a fair way away plus apparently I'm 'not qualified' enough for admin/reception. :rolleyes:How far is your local hospital? A+E need reception staff 24 hours a day as well as auxiliary staff on the wards.

I don't think everyone who is with AQA has a degree Sar - I'm sure I've seen some who have been successful without one.
Reception work - if you can answer the phone without going '!!!! off, there is nobody here' and you can use Word and a printer and are willing to learn their own systems - not a problem. You'd be fine I reckon - stop putting yourself down girl!
Have you looked at the Job Centre online? You can specify up to 16 hours or 16-30 hours on it and it is updated daily Monday to Friday.

It's probably different where you are, but I did some temping in a hospital in London and there were some TOTAL morons there so if they don't want you then they're crazy!! Anyway, I know how frustrating it can be applying for job after job but at the end of the day you've just got to keep at it, and eventually it will pay off - it always does. Good luck! If you want me to look over your CV please pm me (I got my boyfriend his amazing job by writing his CV and cover letter and this is in the highly competitive field of sound engineering!)0 -
