Frustrated and need to vent..

Apologies if this comes across as whiney and pathetic but just need to rant.
I've been offered a job as trainee volunteer adviser with the CAB.
They just need to know when I can start so I'm in the process of sorting out childcare etc.
the childcare itself isn't a problem. Just need to sort out what days I need, pay the deposit and sort a start date. The main issue though, is money (Isn't it always...)
To be able to afford the £239 nursery fees every month in order for me to volunteer we need the childcare element of the tax credit which means I have to be working 16hrs a week or more. At the moment I'm working 5 so currently searching for jobs. Me finding said job is pretty much imperitive to me volunteering as otherwise we can't afford the nursery fees and I have noone who could look after the girls for me.
I can only work after 7pm or saturday/sundays as Ste works all week 9-5.30. There's a serious lack of jobs that fit in with those hours and it's driving me mad. The only jobs are bar jobs or things I don't have enough experience for.
Getting seriously frustrated and it's driving me mad. I need to sort something out but I'm really reliant on working 16hrs a week or more.
Sorry to rant... just wanted to get it off my chest.

Join the rest of us, same here.
But you can always do it later when the children are in school, I personally would not volunteer for something that meant my children being in childcare, I would work for a decent pay and use nurserys but not volunteer I can't convince myself its worth missing out on the early years for the sake of a volunteer position whereas if you get a good earning job the children do have some benefits.
Its the age old money or mummy! I would go for mummy everytime plenty of years ahead of us for the rest.0 -
Well the volunteering is going to be a step on the ladder to a good earning job...

Or how about a local solicitors - maybe they need someone to type up agreements and contracts - I know in London there are typing jobs where you can work unusual hours as they just need the typing done!0

I think I'd agree that it sounds like a lot of pressure on the family at this point in their lives. If you are working evenings/weekends and studying for the CAB volunteering, when are you going to have time just to spend with your husband? If it was me, I'd put it off for a bit until the youngest could get some free nursery time.0

How many hours/days would you be doing at the CAB Sar?No longer using this account for new posts from 20130

The CAB would be 6 hours a week in 2 3-hour sessions a week. Ash will be doing her free nursery sessions by then anyway but both girls will be in nursery together just 2 afternoons a week.Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043
