If Ebay do not remove the slanderous comment calling me a "Liar" I will file for a deformation form and sue Ebay for breach of contract.

Personally, i wouldnt let this A Hole get under your skin - lets be honest thats all hes trying to do - leave a neg for him 'beware - doesnt understand how echeques work and becomes abusive'.

Let it lie at that. Lifes too short. I wouldnt let a p rick like him even register on my radar.

I've been in this situation as a buyer - I won and paid for an item immediately. The payment went through as normal. A week later I had not received the item so asked why. The seller said my payment was still 'pending'.

However, she was only looking at her Ebay account and not her PayPal account. There was a glitch with Ebay. It took a couple of emails to convince her that I had paid and for her to log on to her PayPal account rather than relying on what her Ebay account said.

I got the item in the end and she had to manually adjust her Ebay account to 'payment received' - but I can understand how such a situation could deteriorate into a dispute. Just wondering if it's the same thing here - has the OP checked their PayPal account or just relying on the Ebay info?

This has happened to me a few times now as well. With e-cheques you know you have to wait to clear, but when it just says pending i now thoroughly check my paypal statement to see if the money has gone in, and in every occassion is actually has. I made the mistake of waiting once assuming it hadn't cleared on my ebay statement only to see that it had in fact gone in my paypal account a good week previously.

And as for one neg, we all get wan*ers like that, and it really will not affect whether people buy off you or not. I had a negative feedback from a NPB after i gave her negative. Really wound me up, but at the end of the day there really is nothing you can do so just move on.

You are making a huge mountain out of a tiny molehill.

One negative in eight years is nothing.

Suing Ebay would be an waste of time, effort and money. The only likely outcome is Ebay will close your account for being a nuisance.

Post a calm and factual response to the negative, give a calm and factual negative to the buyer, put him on your blocked bidders list and then completely forget about it all.
  • Ive been in the buyers position where it took well over 10 days of me asking the seller "have you sent it yet" and them claiming the payment hadnt cleared. It had. eventually they sent me a grumpy email saying as a goodwill gesture they would post without payment "just this once" even though paypal had confirmed it cleared immediately.

I dont think the OP's buyer is all that bad, i would have had a similar attitude if i felt i was being scammed, which he clearly does.

I am still in receipt of abusive e-mails from a buyer who "lost use" of his transport to pick a collection only item up.

I left him a neg and have suffered abuse ever since. I am sorry to say I have received a lot worse e-mails than this - threatening physical abuse, know where I live, he has "unlawful" friends around the country who I have upset.

I reported them all to ebay - who state "they cannot advise me of the outcome due to privacy!"

I assume he has been "told off" by Ebay, but can't be sure he still won't just turn up one day!! I have to move on.....and so should you.

    Just keep reporting any abuse.

i have - but I very much doubt anything (if does happen) will be linked to him.

I have had two auctions "wrecked" where the items ended up at ridiculous prices and not paid for. Both at different addresses, but I would lay money this guy is involved somewhere - over 1500 transactions and two auctions get wrecked in the week he has a grievance!

I can only report it - but due to "privacy" I am not allowed to know the outcome.

I sympathise but he will probably get bored soon or run out of spare ebay ids.

Auction wrecking can be counter productive and might work to your advantage.

Have you tried a second chance offer? Maybe the auction wrecker boosted other bids higher and a second chance offer may be at a higher price than if the auction wrecker had not bid.

Even if you can’t get a second chance accepted, email the suspected auction wrecker and tell him you did and thank him for boosting your final sales prices. :D

What a nonsense over such a small amount of money. Accept there has been a problem between you, draw a line under the issue and move on. Life is too short!!

As for suing ebay I don't think you will have a chance of success. It would cost thousands in legal fees and would get you nowhere.
