Ebay Nutter buyer nightmare HELP !!!

I have had for 8 years 100% feedback rating until this buyer came along who was bent on destroying my reputation. He bid on an item and then sent Payment via Paypal which up until now has still not cleared and is "pending" payment. He emailed me asking where the item is and I explained that it was a pending payment. Between his bank and paypal. He then denied I emailed him back and became very agressive and called me a liar etc. I reported his emails to Ebay (threats of negative feedback etc) I have now been left negative feedback calling me a liar. I have looked into Ebay's policy for feedback removal and it appears they don't remove it, even if it has been left by the likes of this chap.

Can anyone tell me, as I have the Ebay internal messages as evidence of his threats, if anything can be done about trouble causers like this as well as have unjust feedback removed?

  • I have had a similar incident and Ebay just don't give a hoot. Thats why the feedback system is rubbish and does not protect the seller at all.

i had the same problem - posted the item, forwarded proof of postage and even made a full refund to the buyer and then he left me negative feedback - some right t@ats about - this was all for a £3 transaction!!
  • Personally I would leave a calm & professional reply to his feedback.

Perhaps along the lines of .

Payment still pending, goods will be sent as soon as payment clears.

Buyers' will look at your feedback and see that you were unjustly given a neg, yet dealt with it in a very professional manner esp. as it's your only one.

As bobdauilda says Ebay don't give a hoot!

Well I won't rest until Ebay right this wrong. I have evidence of threats from him about how he will enjoy leaving negative feedback. Surely that counts .

I had the same problem, i now have 1 neg and hundreds of positives with 99.9% feedback, i'm annoyed that one person has put my score to 99.9% which is likely to stay forever  I wish Ebay would review it's feedback policy and sort out these unfair negs because otherwise more people will just give negs when they like.
  • I heard on MTV news last week that ebay is reviewing it's feedback system so that it is not possible to leave negative feedback. Look out for it in the next month ot two as they aremaking quite a few changes at the moment

And ebay are changing (or have changed already) the ability for sellers to leave negative feedback. I'm not sure how stupid they can get but it's looking pretty darn stupid.

It's a shame ebay don't have any REAL competition in the market, they pretty much just doing what they damn well please.

Don't get me wrong, I'm with you on this and think it's unfair, the whole F/B system is a farce!

I was just trying to offer an alternative solution :)

no it doesn't i'm afraid, not as far as eBay is concerned. they will tell you that what is expressed in the feedback is a personal opinion and that removing it will be against the ethos.

they only remove a comment if it contains foul and abusive language

Doesn't protect buyers either. Hubby bought a swing arm for his bike, it was listed as in excellent condition. When it arrived it was more damaged than the one he was replacing. Hubby emailed the seller who got her husband involved saying the postie must have damaged it, even though the packaging was perfect. In the end hubby left a neg as they weren't willing to sort it out and got one back saying he was a liar and a con man. It wouldn't happen now as he would have done a dispute for item not as described but this was in our early days when we didn't know we could do a dispute.
