weve been doing well since i came out of hospital as hubby did shopping and tends to do better on the budget shopping.he buys a good size chicken for sunday and he does extra potatoes, cabbage, cauliflour, broccoli ,any more veg, then with the excess amount, monday nights is bubble and sqeak with leftover chicken, then as hes been shopping and always buys 2 cauliflours, come tuesday when daughter has been swimming ive prepared before hand a big cauliflour and broccoli cheese[just as it says a large traywith the cooked veg pour over plenty of cheese sause and grill with a bit of cheese on top.]so thats sunday, monday, tuesday.another cheap meal is-we love subway sandwiches[yes theyre expensive] but hubby buys his own chiabatta bread and a can of meatballs-slices chiabatta, hot meatballs and a bit of cheese sprinkled-your very own meatball mariana sub!!!!!!!! thats just a few of our budget meals! When you read my posts, think Barry from Auf weidersehen pet...I sound just like him

ive come up with so far
jacket potato with bolognaise sauce ( already have the sauce in freezer)
hm pizza ( already have the base mix in )
hm burgers and potato wedges
tuna pasta bake
was going to have roast chicken and use the chicken for next day aswell but i cant afford to get the chicken aswell as all the veg etc
was thinking of doing a toad in the hole but never made it before
I think the pkts of bacon scraps at morrisons where I shop are only about 25p. Would that be cheaper than using a tin of tuna in your bake?
Minced pork is cheaper and leaner at our Morrisons than the beef stuff, bit of curry seasoning in and burgers are delicious, I think I put in a spot of onion and a little bit of mango chutney.
I just made my first lot of HM tomato sauce for pasta, cost about 30p instead of my normal Bertolli at well over a £."Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"

I've already swapped all my meals around this week due to use by dates on things in the fridge so we had spag bol last night and I made enough for leftovers which we might have as "pasta something" tonight
yes - HM does mean homemade - or at least I hope it does or I have been reading it wrong

I've gone awol from my week's plan as well. Still no fishcakes! Looks as though that will have to be bumped again to next week. The planning is getting me much more organised in general though.
Oh and the plan changed tonight because ds (6yo) wanted to make tea so he made spag bol (put all the ingredients in the pan, stirred them etc). Was lovely and well worth changing the plan for!0
