My fridge normally contains lots and lots of veg, leftovers, yoghurt, milk, cheese, cheese spread, meat, butter and normally cold pasta/rice/cooked pulses (I don't do accurate quantities of these :D ).

OH puts everything in the fridge - jam, olives, pickles, eggs, condiments, nutella, which promptly get put back in the cupboards when I go in there. :D Oddly enough he doesn't see the need to put leftovers in the fridge and will leave them on the side for days if I don't do it Coffee lives in the freezer compartment if I use it, OH always puts it in the cupboard. he hasn't learnt the kitchen is mine (well, apart from the washing up bit :D )

  • Milk, red leicester cheese, mozzarella cheese, parmesan, butter and marge for baking, eggs

fizzy mineral water and OJ, maybe white wine depending

mayo, mustard, garlic vinegar (HM); salad dressings

onions and whatever veg are in. Maybe some fruit.

Usually there's beer that someone has left although neither of us drink it. There's also a bottle of gin and some tonic at the minute too....that'll probably be there forever or till we need the space :)

Well I've been paid today so now my fridge is full :D .

Fresh milk (long life stuff in cupboard)
    Mozarella cheese
    cooked meat for sandwiches
2 x stewing steak - to go in the freezer when I've sorted it out.
    1 x 6 chicken breasts - ditto
pack of belly pork - ditto
    bacon - ditto
    sausages - ditto
    yoghourts for the grandkids
posh yoghourts for meeeee (last time dgd1 pinched my posh one and then said 'yuk'!)
    Fresh coffee for the cafetiere
    2 x sunflower margarine
    2 x spreadable 'butter'
half a doz extra large free-range eggs
2 packs of weightwatchers chcocolate shortcake (mmm)
    large bottle of shandy
large bottle of diluted lemon and lime squash (so dgk's don't make it too strong!)
carrots, parsnips, cabbage, leeks, french beans and courgettes (the last two whoopsied)

Bought lots more whoopsie stuff this evening :j so loads of stuff has already gone into the freezer. Will be spending tomorrow morning blanching veggies ready for freezing into portions. Also managed to buy a 'happier chicken' (not free-range :( - just 'happier') whoopsied from £6.00 to £2.40 - I'm convinced that it had MY name written on it - the 'lady with the gun' arrived at the shelf as I did!

  • does anyone else make an outside fridge to get through Christmas? we always seem to have so much more to store & often get some plastic boxes with lids & store on top of bricks & chuck things like extra drinks/mixers out there plus veg (uncooked)

what do you/would you store in yours???

*also does anyone have an idea where I can store a big sack of spuds?

    many thanks

    Do you have a garage?

Yep - I put all drinks in the shed plus vegetables - keeps lovely and cold in there. Altho this year I think we will need to watch out for below freezing temps! That would ruin some of the vegetables. And may have to bring drinks in to warm them up a bit :D No ice will be needed for drinks this year LOL
