So should I be keeping onion in the fridge, because most of you don't? I put it in a tupperware type container once it's been cut?0

Unpeeled onions keep for months without chilling, I tend to keep them in the fridge out of habit when the skin is off though.0

in my fridge i always have milk, butter, meat, fish, veg, salad, yoghurt and fresh herbs. These i buy every week. Tend to choose different meat (lamb, beef, pork, chicken) and rotate cuts (e.g. chicken breasts, legs, whole chicken etc) to avoid getting in a food 'rut'. Likewise with types of fish and different herbs and veg. Things I keep in the back of my fridge are jam, marmalade, mayo, mint sauce, horseradish, apple sauce, cranberry sauce, chili jam etc. I also tend to have blueberries as I love 'em.
I would have other types of fruit, ginger, garlic, chillies in the fruit bowl and eggs out on the counter.0 -

I have been in London with DD for a coupe of days so the fridge is fairly bare.
Had huge bowl of porridge for breakfast as it fills me up and then I do not pick at food all day!!!
Skimmed milk (lots) as I buy it in long life cartons at Lidl for 44p a litre.
Eggs
Mature cheddar cheese.
1 yoghurt
Pesto,3 cartons passata, butter.
Salad cream, two peppers and two cartons of fruit juice.
3 left over large potatoes which I will use to saute later.
I took a ham shank out of the freezer last night and also soaked a pack of dried peas overnight - added chopped potatoes, onion and leeks with boiling water and a pea and ham soup is now in my slow cooker.
I used to put carrot in the soup but DH though it was too sweet so now I use a couple of leeks instead.
Managed to stir myself enough to mix up a batch of dough for home made rolls or a loaf which is whirring away in the breadmaker and which will be baked in the oven later.
Once soup is made I will remove the ham shank - let it cool and have some in a roll or with saute potatoes (sounds posher than chips!)
Might use the peppers in an omelet later if anyone turns up their nose at soup or ham!
I usually like to have cheese, milk, eggs, cooked meat, fish, yoghurts, carrots, onions, peppers, cauliflowers, leeks and mushrooms and sieved tomato.
There are usually chicken pieces, ham shank, mince (veggie or turkey) in the freezer as well as frozen fish and some frozen veg for emergencies.
I get a real kick out of the fact that a DD or DH can look at the fridge and say "there is nothing to eat!" and half an hour later they are eating a meal!
When I get round to it I love making sweet or savoury muffins - I got the recipe from The Tightwad gazette and everybody seems to like it."This site is addictive!"
