The online motor club I'm also in does a glovebox survey: now that is revealing! Anyway, my 'fridge ...
Butter (From before it went up in price and only used when nothing else will do)
Spread
Block of cheese
Tub of grated Parmesan cheese
Pack of cheese slices for sandwiches (They cost about the same as a block and you don't nibble on them)
Tomatoes for sandwiches
2 "stubby" bottles of lager (I'm a bloke and they don't take up much space, honest)
Orange juice
Bacon
Yoghurts
Milk
Mustard (English, not that "Johhny Foreigner" muck)
Mint sauce (Useful for mint raita)
Tomato ketchup
Bottle of lemon juice
Cherry tomatoes for salads
Bag of salad (currently spinach, rocket, etc.)

I think mine has been living on beans and toast and tinned soup for the couple of days I was away!
How difficult is it to poach an egg or make cheese on toast???
Or even microwave a potato????
Lets hope I am appreciated after being away!;)"This site is addictive!"

Hi everyone
I haven't been on here for a while as it's always so busy at work but I'm off today so I'm taking the opportunity to catch up with some OS questions!
We are doing a full refurb on our kitchen and we got an amazing bargain on a 2nd hand fridge freezer, it's almost new and it will be ideal for us as a family. However, the fridge part is about 4 times the size of our previous fridge so now that we've transferred our food over it's looking very bare!!
Our kitchen is south facing so our fruit and veg goes off really quickly so this is the first thing we thought of. We also intend to put all open bottles of sauces etc which we couldn't before.
What else can we put in there? Flour? baking items? Herbs/spices? etc I do all my cooking from scratch and quite a bit of baking including our own bread sometimes.
Also what shouldn't we put in there?
I'm slightly too excited about this new appliance and I think it's a sign I need to get out more :rotfl:We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
You should fill it with Wine and beer.0

Now why would I do a thing like that when I can't drink alcolhol?!

You might like to celebrate on or around the 14th of April? Trust me, you'll need it afterwards, usually for about 18 years. The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0 -
Hi
Pretty much anything can go in except bananas. Nail Varnish can go in if you use it.0 -
Ah! Did not see that.
If you like pickled eggs you could make your own. I love them but they need to be kept in a fridge whilst you are making them.0 -
Hi melt,
As someone mentioned earlier, bananas are the only thing that I can think of that don't keep well in the fridge. It's also important to make sure any food stored in the fridge is completely cold before putting it in.
There was a thread on what to keep in the fridge yesterday so I've added your thread to it to keep all the suggestions together.
