Futura have ceased operations and as such won't be operating any flights. However the good news is that their flights from the UK were all charter flights; and most of them were for the large UK tour operators. Therefore the tour operators will be making other arrangements to get you to and from your destination.

This may mean plans having to change (obviously airlines will, but also flight times and in extreme cases airports), but bear in mind Futura going bust will be as much of a shock to the tour operators as it is to passengers, so they will be doing their best to rearrange flights it may mean having to be a little flexible (but a slightly changed itinerary is much better than no holiday right?!)

In the worst case scenario, if tour operators don't make alternative arrangements then you will be ATOL covered , which will mean a refund eventually. However, I can't see the big tour operators doing this, they'll have the resources and means to subcharter another airline, and if the've got planeloads of pax booked, I imagine this is what they'll do.
  • I've flown with them, and I've got a genuine fear of flying. It was one of my best flights - very large plane with plenty of room. Helpful staff, some in flight entertainment which was nice.

Obviously there are problems at the moment with futura, but as for the flight itself, I can tell you personally that you have no need to worry. I'm still terrified, despite hpynosis, valium etc but they were one of the best flights I've been on for feeling safe.

If it's a package deal you're covered by the ATOL bond but that shouldn't need to apply as Futura were never a Holiday company, just a charter airline.
In all probability the neither the agent nor your holiday company probably know exactly what the final details are yet for you replacement flight. We're still in high season and the Tour companies are stretched. It's a difficult time of year to source widespread ad-hoc charter aircraft. I'm sure they'll be in touch soon with a new itinery. Keep checking with them though.

Zero, we were due to fly out to Lanzarote on the 2nd October with Futura. (Journey back with Monarch)

We booked with First Choice. I rang them this morning and they called me back. They told me that they won't know anything for another couple of days, but I was tole we will still go on the 2nd, just with a different carrier and maybe a different flight time.

Hopefully it will be the same for you, I'm keeping my fingers crossed! xx

which holiday company are you using. Going places used to favour Mytravel (now Thomas Cook). If its one of these you'll be fine

Can I just ask while I'm here.

Apart from our booking, I booked for my Aunty and Uncle to go, same dates, same flights but booked with alpharooms.

Aunty received their flight tickets yesterday, their outward ticket for Futura.

Any ideas what they should do now please? (I feel awful for booking it for them!)
