OK, if we are going to plumb the depths ........

Many years ago I read a US Navy manual about working in Arctic conditions. It said if you touched bare metal and your hand became stuck to the metal, the best way to free it was to urinate on it. If both hands became stuck it said, "get a friend to do it for you".

I often wondered what exactly that meant !!

Don't flush at night (or much during the day either tbh) although I would at someone else's house.

We must be really stingy because we leave the plug in the bath after we've bathed the kids at night, and have a bucket under the sink to use to "flush" with the used bathwater in the morning. :o Mind you, I grew up with a septic tank, and all the men in the family were sent out to wee in the garden (on the compost heap lol).

We flush no matter what time of the day it is and no matter what has been deposited in the loo.

I'd flush if I was at someones house no matter what the time was too.

...the best way to free it was to urinate on it from a suitable distance to avoid getting anything else stuck to the metal as well

Theres one off the invite list.
When people come to stay I will be enquiring about there habits now. (If in doubt lock them outside! well away from the sink where I brush my teeth!)
