To flush or not to flush ?

Following on from another post about rocks in toilets, I was curious to know whether you all flush the toilet when you have a pee during the night? If not, is this because you don't want to disturb others in the house?
And what do you do if you're staying in somebody else's house? Does one rashly ask them what their "night time protocol" is, or just flush anyway?

If its yellow, let it mellow. If its brown, flush it down. The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0

Flush it !
Apart from not looking and possibly not smelling nice, it will stain the toilet bowl far quicker.0 -
no need for rocks put a balloon filled with water(size of a grapefruit) in the cistern
for noise get one of the long balloons snip the closed end off and put on the water inlet in the cisternIMOJACAR

If it is looking full, flush it, otherwise it will block. I flush after 3 pees but always after a poo.An average day in my life:hello: :mad: :coffee::coffee::coffee::T

I am no expert in property but have lived in many types of homes, in many locations and can only talk from experience.0 -
Fungus the bogeyman always recommended not flushing if you can still get the lid down!!

Toilet bowls don't stain, it's the limescale on the bowl that stains.
I hardly ever flush, but I live on my own. I use a "blu-loo" in the cistern (Somerfield own brand) and there is no smell and no staining.
Every week, or so, I pour some vinegar into the bowl and give it a good brush a few hours later. Never had a problem, although the blue water does get lighter the more you pee in it. But one flush a day does me.0 -
My husband won't flush in the middle of the night if its just a wee.
He says its noisy & a waste of water.
It drives me mad!!!!!!
I try & shame him into it, but he still keeps doing it.
If he did it during the day I would go totally insane.
I think its disgusting.0 -

It is, although I now have a toilet that doesn't make a noise when the cistern fills. It drives me mad!!!!!!
There's more to worry about than a flush of the loo. Believe me, it is nothing to be bothered about.I try & shame him into it, but he still keeps doing it.

It's just pee in a pot, when I was growing up my parents always went in the pot under the bed. And one of use kids got the job of emptying it. Even though we lived in a house with an indoor toilet, my parents always used a pot under the bed at night.
I was married in 1976 and for the first 11 months we lived with my wife's father (her mother had died a few years earlier). But every day my wife checked, and emptied her father's pot.
Years later, when we had kids, she used to go insane when they didn't flush the loo. I could could never understand it?0 -
