People against 3 let us unite
I have had problems with 3 since December last year and am still trying to resolve it. I havent looked at a single website and was being charged £25 for the privledge.
Friday however I got through to someone who knew what they were talking about, got me connected but it is running at max 5kbps which is awful so I found a 3 CEO's email address and have just emailed him direct.
Go straight for the top and see if that gets me anywhere!!0 -
I have a winning story, I beat 3, although it took 10 months but an email address on here sped it up. Read my post above for the story.
Anyway, I emailed the CEO on Sunday, got a reply Monday saying they are going to investigate my claim and that it was being passed on and that it would take 10 working days to sort out.
I emailed again this morning to see how the claim was going and about 30 minutes ago I got a call from their offices in Scotland saying they are cancelling the rest of my contract (due to run til June 09) and they are reimbursing me for 10 months of rental £250.
If anyone else wants to give it a go the email address is
Executive.Office@three.co.uk0 -
I read these threads and took the risk anyway because i really didn't want to get a landline, and also because the 3G mobile broadband deal was half price at the time.
£7.50 per month.
I live in the south side of glasgow and this dongle works fine for me. It's clearly not broadband and often takes 10 seconds or more to open a page. Quite often the pages can load quicker than this though.
Anyway I know a lot of people have had problems but perhaps it's mostly the people who have had problems that are the ones that are inclined to search for these discussions and take out their frustrations on here. Maybe, maybe not. anyway the point is that i thought it only fair to throw in my experience that ths service is fine in the south side of glasgow.
Ps. I did buy a £15 USB extension cable so that i could sit the dongle on my window cill as it wasn't working at the back of the room.
Bets of luck getting your problems sorted out. I can't speak to their customer service as i've never had to deal with them but I can imagine it must be very frustrating. All the best.Smile and be happy, things can usually get worse!0 -

With the greatest of respect, you got ripped off paying that much for the cable0 -
No point in going into detail as I see most people have the same problem, we've been trapped in this useless contract for months, think it's finally up soon though. It worked brilliantly for the first month, second month it was awful and we got an email saying we had gone over allowance half way through the month so I called them and upgraded our package - only to discover they were wrong and we were nowhere near our allowance and wouldn't have used it all up over the month, but they refused to put us back on the lower plan for two months! Spent ages arguing with them, they admitted that they should put us back on the lower plan but they weren't going to.
Service was awful, it was either painfully slow or just wouldn't connect at all, customer service were dreadful.
We ended up paying for a BT line to be set up and signed up for normal broadband
I can't believe so many people have to pay for the service even though they can't use it.0 -
I wasted several months dealing with 3's Customer Service and Cancellations departments to try and correct their own error. I had returned one of their modems within 48 hours as it did not work on either of my computers but they still kept sending me bills every month.
The way I eventually got everything sorted out was to e-mail Kevin Russell (CEO) at:
kevin.russell@three.co.uk
Within a week, I had a letter from 3's Executive Office promising to refund my money and within a month I had a cheque for the full amount they owed me plus a small amount for compensation for my postage costs.
All the best,
SS2
P.S. You might find this website (which has his e-mail address on it) useful - http://www.connectotel.com/marcus/ceoemail.html
I found it by accident by the adivce seems quite sensible. Thanks also to some members of this forum who sent me private messages with very useful advice.0 -
I also got 3 mobile broadband and had nothing but problems especially with coverage, only half the speed of the old modems,, the woman in the shop told me there were gonna be some upgrades in a month but this never happend,,, my advise is not to go with 3 mobile broadband as they very poor coverage all over the uk.0
