Hi everyone, sorry if ive posted this in the wrong place, im still finding my way around this great site !
Im needing some help with a trust fund.
My nan & granddad, on my fathers side, set up a trust fund for me when I was young, ( im now 40 ) and I wondering how I can claim it ( if that's the right words ) Im not in contact with my father. I haven't seen him since I was 3yrs old, and I believe both my grandparents passed away a while ago now. I don't know how trust funds work, or if im still entitled to the trust fund that was set up ?
thank you for any help

Hi,
Just wanted to say, through help reading this site my husband has been reunited with an old Prudential policy from 1989 and the first statement showing all the figures as at March 2014 with a plan value of £40,845.12!!!
It appears that this is an 'on death' policy and goes on to talk about former protected rights , lump sums (25%) etc which doesnt help in decisions. He hasn't paid into this for years and currently has two pensions with employers .
A small lump sum would be nice right now, but not sure of which way to deal with this?
thanks again everyone!0 -

Depends on what he wants to do with his pensionI am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. Thanks dunstonh,
It's a pension you're right!
As he had forgot about this and has since for the last 15/20 years been paying into other pension schemes he is not sure what he wants to do with it, but if he could take a sum out of this it would help at the moment.
I guess what I am saying in a roundabout way is he wants to draw money from it.
thanks again:)0 -
