As a newbie to this site, it's all a little overwhelming, and although I know if I post there is help available, it wouldn't have occured to me to search for something within the forums - I'm not at all techno-literate. And this is the first forum I've wanted to try and use.
So for me (and I can't believe I'm the only one), it's opened up my eyes to the possibility of searching for other recipe ideas I'd like (though I probably won't personally find them! :rotfl:).
    So huge thanks. :T

I'll make it really easy for you...

It will give you some idea of what's available around the Old Style forum, and our entire list of indexes and collections is easy to find...

You can find these via my signature any time you see it or...

..you can use the Indexed Collections link in the Start Here Bar at the top of every page which looks something like this:-

Then as squeaky says next time you want to find something just click on his sig or the sticky and you should be able to find it. ;) Or keep trying with the search function. You get used to it eventually. icon7.gif

:) You and several hundred others :)

But I'm not the only one, all three of us Board Guides are here to help where we can, and there are quite a few members who also give their own time helping those who are new to Old Style to find their way around.

So many thanks to them too! :D

Or you could make the dumpling mix into pastry and roll it out to make jam roly poly

  • I love the way this suddenly went back to dumpling mix! :rotfl:

Thanks heaps, Squeaky - an idiot's guide is definitely what I need. I will try this out later, but even I can make sense of this.

Read the microwave suet pudding recipe at 1.15pm and was overcome with longing: 2oz veggie suet in the fridge - it's a sign!

20 mins later I have a quarter of a suet pudding with golden syrup and custard for lunch! It's quicker than a tin! (And I did miss breakfast today...)

It would take me longer to work out how to do dumpling mix (find scissors to open packet, find glasses to read instructions etc !) than to make suet pastry from scratch!
