Dweeby - congratulations:j Hope the hangover isn't too bad this morning
In My dreams - great news too (maybe you need to pop over to oldstyle for some tips to cope with the double payment)
Lost socks - yay you got there in the end:T. I was told it takes 24-48hrs to appear online but if you need access to any additional funds you can call and they'll transfer to the 1st account
allan673- I really hope they deal with the doc asap
Us? I've just called for an update, they have the redemption, the legal doc is checked. We're ready to go. He said the draw down may happen Monday but certainly in the next few days. Have updated my timeline
I'm glad we're all coming to a conclusion with our great deals, but it will be a shame not to have to log on each day to see how we're all doing. Thanks for all your help and support everyone:D0 -
jem16 - Glad it all seems to be going well for your Son now after the few glitches.
Thanks for the good wishes.
It has been really helpful to check this thread to find out what should be happening and under what timescale. The last 8 weeks have been really stressful and I'm not the one who's actually moving! Not sure my son appreciated his mum pushing and prodding him to act on things though but never mind - maybe one day he will.
Good Luck to mrsm, allan673, InMyDreams, LostSocks and dweeby in particular who have kept us all up to date.
I also found out yesterday that a colleague at work is remortgaging to the 5yr offset too - she's a couple of weeks behind my son and is really delighted at her deal. It's funny how that happens - someone on my doorstep and didn't realise it!0 -
Does your son live with at the moment jem? if so i reckon that's why you've been pushing him and feeling the stress;). Hope he has his keys soon. Maybe you should point your friend in this direction so she can see what she's in for:rotfl:0

Yes he does live with me and about to fly the nest into his first home. My son is one of those people who does everything at the last minute but it all magically falls into place anyway. I should know better and keep out of it.Hope he has his keys soon.
His entry date is 18th April so he'll get the keys then. Our house buying system is different in Scotland so he's known this date from when his offer went in on 7th February. That's what added to the timescale problem. FD wouldn't look at the mortgage for him until he had a property and once an offer is made up here you are committed to that date.Maybe you should point your friend in this direction so she can see what she's in for:rotfl:
I did mention it in passing. I think she's about to get the valuation done - a drive by by the sound of it.0 -
Thanks to jem I have now linked my timeline
My credit card was charged on Apr 3 for the £200 valuation fee (house purchase).
Do you get a copy of this valuation as you paying for it? If anybody has read any of my posts on other threads I had to pull out of the previous house we thought we were purchasing as we agreed a 3250K selling price and homebuyers report came back with a valuation of £200K:eek: so obviously a little bit nervous about the one !!0 -
i just rang f.d as i expected the legal doc here this morning for me to initial and re-send to them.
yesterday (friday) i was told that the error on the legal doc was spotted on thursday and it should be with me friday or saturday.
but now ive just been told it wont be sent untill monday - im going to phone on monday morning and get them to confirm with the security department whats going on.
basically theres an error on the legal doc, so why arnt they sending me it out so i can rectify it ???????????? (or will they send a new set of legal docs out to me? as i said before our lasses 1st name was spelt wrong, so she corrected and initialed it, but i apparently have to initial it too - all because they have made a typing error).
this is going to delay things for me by a couple of weeks now i think - im annoyed to be honest.0 -

You should receive a copy of this type of valuation along with a receipt for your payment from Direct Valuations (I did).0 -

LOL, I think I do it all already. It should sort itself out over the next month or so anyway. I was just lucky to have the money in the right place at the right time (due to me worrying about the current account switch). When I get my refund from the Abbey it'll just go right back in the savings pot where it came from to start with.I'm glad we're all coming to a conclusion with our great deals, but it will be a shame not to have to log on each day to see how we're all doing. Yes, I'm going to miss this thread! But it couldn't have ended at a better time for me as I'm taking the children off up to Scotland tomorrow for a week with my family. Nice to have it all sorted before I go. Just a shame dh can't come too. Bl**dy school holidays all being different (he's a teacher as are other members of the family). Will be checking in when I get back though to see how mrsm, allan and jem's son are doing.
Oh, and to bring it back on topic, there's supposed to be the last £299 charge added onto the mortgage isn't there? Mine doesn't seem to have been added yet. Hope they don't try to take that out of the bank account as well. All the illustrations they sent me were for my requested sum plus £299, so assuming it'll be all right.our lasses 1st name was spelt wrong,
Do you mean your wife's? I'm understanding 'lass' as 'daughter' but I didn't think children need to be listed. I didn't list ours. If I'm wrong... opps!0 -

I'm a teacher too and just starting my holidays as are quite a few of the councils up here. Some are just finishing as they still take the changeable Easter holiday. Our council decided a few years back to always make it the first 2 weeks in April. I'm off down to London for a few days.0
