FD mortgages - how long for approval?

We have our keys. I was slightly disappointed as I remembered it to be bigger. But the biggest disappointment was that they have taken the lovely electric integrated hob (bit like a big glass tile) and replaced it with a cheap electric ring hob. I've spoken to my solicitors and there's nothing much that can be done without costing lots of money (despite having a estate agent details that clearly shows the original hob). So he's writing a letter of disappointment. So it's taken the shine off of getting the keys for the house.

im glad you got the keys for your house, its a shame about the hob - dont be disappointed though, be positive .
we had a similar situation when we bought this house - he took the new chrome electric shower and replaced it with an old inferior model - there was nothing i could do, it just wound me up because i couldnt do that to someone.

I didn't even know that we are entitled to £100, cheers for that.

Edited to add: I just checked their website and it says that it is subject to you paying a minimum of £1500 into your 1st Account within the first 3 months.

Thanks. Like you said I wouldn't have done it to them and I think I found it more upsetting because I had been planning on buying some new pans but decided to wait till I got in the house and was really (sad I know) really looking forward to the nice hob. Overall I'm happy and can't wait till we fully move in on Thursday.

well enjoy the house lostsocks and i hope the move goes well.
the legal docs did come this morning with a covering letter, i just had to initial my girlfriends amendment as its a joint mortgage (she amended and initialed her name which was spelt wrong - and i didnt in the first instance).
ive just put it in the post - so hopefully mine will be completed next week, i was hoping it would be complete this week but i think its too much to ask for ?
i will let you all know any updates.

Allan, I think you might be pushing it;). Mine's been in the queue since Friday. I called yesterday and was told it would be any day now but they couldn#t say exactly when.
I just got a text and nearly wet myself with excitement but it was just egg reminding me of the heavy CC bill heading my way;)

CHEERS MRSM, so when f.d get confirmation from securities does it enter a queue?
they have the redemption figure etc alreday, just need the legal docs verified from securities.
let me know mrsm when yours is complete please, it will give me a rough idea.(looking at your timeline im around a week behind you)

The guy I spoke to yesterday said it had been passed to the drawdown dept, who would need to check the redemption figure, calculate any additional interest and then arrange the transfer. He mentioned that due the extra interest mine will be over the amount I requested. He made a note that I had agreed it to be taken from my 1st account (I'm guessing if he hadn't they would have to contact me and ask how I want to fund the rest)

Believe me, once I get that text there'll be no stopping me. I'll be straight on here to update you:rotfl:

Received our mortgage offer in the post today, legal documents should follow in the next 2-3 days who hooo! We applied the first week in March (we're re-mortgaging), I am very pleased with how quickly it was arranged. Good luck everyone!
