The hoildays are a pain this year, did you hear about the woman on the radio who had children at 2 different schools so between them they are off for 5 weeks:eek:

We've been off since Good Friday, they go back on Wednesday. My eldest 2 are only ar preschool but they can't wait to go back, every day they ask is it a school day today

My mortgage is now showing online and I already owe £28 and I haven't got a house yet!!

Inmydreams - my £299 fee wasn't added to my mortgage and has been taken from my current account. Sorry, not what you wanted to hear. Have a good holiday.

LOL, I think I do it all already. It should sort itself out over the next month or so anyway. I was just lucky to have the money in the right place at the right time (due to me worrying about the current account switch). When I get my refund from the Abbey it'll just go right back in the savings pot where it came from to start with.

Yes, I'm going to miss this thread! But it couldn't have ended at a better time for me as I'm taking the children off up to Scotland tomorrow for a week with my family. Nice to have it all sorted before I go. Just a shame dh can't come too. Bl**dy school holidays all being different (he's a teacher as are other members of the family). Will be checking in when I get back though to see how mrsm, allan and jem's son are doing.

Oh, and to bring it back on topic, there's supposed to be the last £299 charge added onto the mortgage isn't there? Mine doesn't seem to have been added yet. Hope they don't try to take that out of the bank account as well. All the illustrations they sent me were for my requested sum plus £299, so assuming it'll be all right.

Do you mean your wife's? I'm understanding 'lass' as 'daughter' but I didn't think children need to be listed. I didn't list ours. If I'm wrong... opps!
hi, "our lass" is my fiancee - sorry for any confusion - it must be a yorkshire thing lol

I wonder if its cause to complain. Like LostSocks everything I read said it would be added to the mortgage, all the Key facts I received said £73,299. The Formal offer listed fees as Booking - already paid, Mortgage fee - added to mortgage

My £299 was never added to my mortgage and nothing said it on the key facts. Although I did query it and I was told it would come of my Credit Card, if I had used it to pay the arrangement fee. Luckly though, I had money in my FD account as I'm in the process of transferring it other.

I've been told my money has been sent over to the sellers solicitor and I got a letter this morning from First Direct saying my mortgage was open. So I should be getting the call soon to say I can pick the keys up. Hope I like it! It's been 5 months since I have seen the inside of it and I've forgotten what it looks like.

update - i rang first direct again about the amended legal docs, they rang security department for me and hopefully it will be posted out to me today.
so im hoping i receive it tomorrow morning - that way i will initial the amendment and return it to them tomorrow too.

if i get it tomorrow im hoping the mortgage will be completed by the end of the week???? but it may be next week now.
i think it would have all been complete by now if they hadnt made the typing error on the original legal docs they sent to me.

I know this is a bit off topic but has anyone who is/has got a mortgage or remortgage from FD been given the £100 in their new bank account that they are advertising for customers who have opened a bank account. We have all opened a bank account as well as getting the mortgage with them haven't we??

I had my £100 paid in shortly after my second salary went in. My husband hasn't had his yet, but he has only just had his second salary paid in and is a little behind me, so his will be due any day now.

Another one. Congratulations! do let us know when you have them. It'll be just as you remembered, or better.

When I got our keys, it was very much just "here you are" - no fanfare of trumpets or anything. Don't know what I was expecting, just been through so much to get to the "keys" stage.
