Have signed up also, received my first envelope with test items.
I got 18 stamps ... is this for me to use? How many more will I get?
The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realise it doesn't say anything it's too late to stop reading it ....0 -
Royal Mail’s is showing more than 90% of its mail deliveries are hitting or exceeding targets for quality of service. The independent tests carried out by Research International, showed that on quality of service it was meeting all targets. Mailsort, Presstream bulk mail services, First and Second Class PPI (Postage Paid Impression) mail and Standard parcels were all showing impressive results.
Royal Mail, which has been implementing changes to its operations this year including reducing absenteeism and utilising working hours, is delighted with the results.
91.9% of stamped First Class Mail arrived the day after posting - against a target of 93.0% - while 98.7% of Second Class mail arrived within three working days, ahead of the 98.5% target.
The report is based on the first three months of the 2008-09 financial year but the most recent figures covering July show that First Class stamped mail is again beating its 93.0% target level.
Ninian Wilson, Royal Mail’s Operations Director, said: "Royal Mail’s postmen and women put a huge effort into getting First Class stamped mail back above target level and the latest results show their hard work has paid off but we will not relax and are determined to keep delivering the best possible service to all our customers."
It is unclear whether contracts lost to rivals and the cost of providing the universal service will show further losses for 2008 but the quality of service figures are a total contrast to 2007 figures which were reduced due to industrial action.
Royal Mail was formally granted exemption from compensation for failing to meet targets for bulk mailings by the postal regulator Postcomm recently, on the basis that industrial action last year was sparked as a direct result of changes required to modernise the business.

I am new to the forum and i just want to say that as a postman i welcome this sort of scheme. I work as the local postie in my village and i do get some mail to deliver that has been "damaged". You must remember that the mail passes through many hands before it reaches your letterbox so pointing the finger at your postie because he/she is the person you see delivering is a bit unfair. I am an honest person and as such believe that any scheme to rid Royal Mail of stealing or dishonesty is a good thing, i just wanted to let you know that not all posties are like this thread makes them out and i will carry on providing a good and friendly service in the village where i work. Regards, PP.0

I would wait 'til at least midweek before contacting them, as it was only Monday you signed up. :beer:Like good food and drink?
