I very rarely post my letters where they specify (PO/PostBox, etc.), I post them at the place I've registered which is most convenient to me on that day. Same goes for the times of postings and they haven't complained so far!

People are getting far too worked up about this. Remember you are only getting paid 18 stamps a month to do it so put as much/little work into it as you think it deserves!

I agree with you. i only post where i can on the given day. I do not often post at the post office ones i registered (including sorting office) as they are not so convenient to drive to in the week and they havent complained yet.;)
Hope that helps any worried newer members :D

    I selected both  .

My registered post boxes include the Post office and the sorting office..........now what to do...just post in the Post Office box? :o

I had a similar problem. Our main post office which is attached to the sorting office closed but the post boxes were left. The nearest sub post office does not have a post box. I checked with Royal Mail and was told that it was OK to use the old post box at the sorting office, as they consider that to be a Post Office.

So I would suggest you can use either.

Thanks to everyone that replied to my question.

I did post it in the Post office box outside as I was in the area (2 miles away). I hope that it isnt like that every other week as I cannot guarantee to be at the box.

Question: How can I un-register a post box? . It will only allow me to add a box......

    Don't think you can.

Kantar might be able to though.

I agree competely. I usually post at the same postbox every day (just on a side road, not a post office) and I've never had an email telling me I'm doing it wrong.

Thanks I have emailed them. The post box will remain, and I hope I can continue to use that, the nearest PO isn't as convenient. Will see what they say.

The reply was to the effect that they will still consider my PO to be a viable PO even though it is closed because they don't update their details very often, but they would be pleased if I could find another PO in the New Year.
So if I don't get booted off before then, thats what I will try and do.

They rang me last week to ask if I was OK to do some extra posting. They are supposed to be sending details in hte post, but nothnig so far.
