    very funny Mike!

Have you tried googling for box makers? I have to have dinner plate sized ones made to measure, they cost around 80p - £1.00

i haven't tried yet apprentice tycoon, but i will now. :) i seem to need more boxes than i thought. i listed some boxed toys, then realised i didn't have anything to send them in! i ended up using half a roll of bubblewrap and the waterproof bags, but i wasn't comfortable about it.

i think i need to spend more ;)

Somewhere I read on here that if you edit a description of your book (due to noticing something later) it then adds another copy when you submit. Hope this makes sense? Can anyone let me know as I sometimes notice something I forgot to mention and I would prefer to avoid any refunds.

I bought a book on hints and tips the other day. The cheapest on Amazon was £26.52 (used). Ridiculous! However after listing mine at £20 and feeling mighty greedy, the following day due to new entries, the price was down to £3.50! Much more appropriate.

Any answers to above question v. appreciated :)

i've often edited a description or price larmy16, but it's never added another copy.

    touch wood ;)

i just edited an item to try it, and there's still only the one listing.
  • Hi Larmy, I remember the post you refer to, I'm not quite sure how they ended up with duplicate listings though. If you want to double check you can SEARCH your open listings and 2 of the same would show up.

Mike - supermarkets are the best places to look for general packing boxes, you have to lurck around and find someone loading a shelf and ask for them, they will be delighted to let them go. It's your LPs that are going to be hard to pack unless you can pack them in boxes that have been disassembled so you slip the LP in the flattened box if you get my drift

tesco's are keen to get rid of their wine boxes at this time of year too apprentice tycoon, so i'll bag a few and see if anything else is unwanted.

i'm going to hold back on the vinyl, they're harder to price than i thought but i'll ask around.

and just as an observation, unless its just me, but apart from educational books, don't women buy more than men? i reckon the ratio i've sold works out at 95% women and 5 for men. you spendthrifts ;)

and just another observation. sunday's a great day for selling. i'm doing ok today, 3 sales, all women ;)
  • Larmy,

The double posting happened to me. I ended up selling the book twice. I haven't done it again since.

i've just checked again about the double listings, but all i get is a warning that it's listed. but i'm not sure that one i've sold's been taken off :o

do any of you ever look through the classified ads in your local paper online? i've had some good bargains that way, and no delivery charges - just a car ride away. it helps if you have a car though ;)

just had another sale, to another lady! :)

My sister in law mentioned this to me the other week because she had put something up to sell and couldnt work out why someone was phoning about it when the paper was not due out for 3 days, anyway the woman told her how.
So yes I think this is a good way to get a bargain especially if the paper is not due out for a few days.
Just checked mine and no interesting boxes of books for sale yet,but paper does not come out till thurs will have to keep checking.
    Sorry to keep off topic.

Went to an xmas bazaar at a school yesterday,I was in heaven all books 10 or 20p.
Decided to bring up subject of large amount of books in the spare room before he said anything,he was ok actually especially after I told him how much some of them have gone for.

    MIKE
Thought I would have a look at my sales and see who was buying the most
Men 60% Women 40% that is out of 82 sales and my 1st sale was 14/8.

    Soory to keep off topic.

i look in the daily one Angela, theres always something that should sell. i check amazon first ;) but i've bought stuff thats been on sale for 2 or 3 days, and its all been good stuff. videos, cd's, and stuff that amazon sellers like.

and how can it be off topic if amazon sellers might use it? :)

if people aren't sure how to check online, i find it's best to start with 'thisis' and then the name of the town, i.e. thisisleeds or thisisworcester. sometimes you have to root around the sites to find the classified ads, but worth a try.

i sound like a blooming rag and bone man :o;)
