I've just had to go out and get some food supplies and found myself browsing the cheap DVds in one store, just 'in case'.

The vision I had of you's changing now Soo.
Instead of imagining you on your bike with a black binliner popping to the post office, I can see you coming back from the shops with binliners full of 'stuff' :rotfl:
I've just checked out our video's to sell - bestsellers are not much cop - 1p (where's the profit?lol) but I'd imagine local interest topics or similar might sell.
And cd's that never get near the bestsellers list0 -
Hi guys need some advice.
I bought a book and thought "oh no" when I saw it going from 1p until I realised it was the paperback version and I have the hardback version. The hardback version is on sale for £35+. (!!!)
The problem is, when searching by the title, the hardback version is barely on the site, no image or anything.
Would it be safe to post it twice, with the 2nd listing being on the paperback section?
Thank you0 -
Hi nads, it's the blind leading the blind here
, but I'd leave it out of the paperback section.
Some people prefer one or the other (I like hardbacks, but not easy to sell on postage wise are they?
Good luck btw0 -
Having said that, it costs nothing does it?
Put it in paperback as well. Something like  ***Hardback copy*** lol0 -
lol, love the frankness
cheers

Having a similar problem with a video nads. The version I've got is about 15 years old, but Amazon's only showing a 2003 one ....
Does anyone know if the ASIN's a new thing on videos?0 -
It's been a busy day on the old Amazon thread....
- about these books an vids that don't really slot into where the others are, I think that you can put them where the *closest* one to your is and then as Sofa says explain that yours is different because of....blah blah blah
nads...I think that the people looking for your book in paperback for 1 penny might not be in the market for a hardback for £30+ but it might be worth a try, not sure if it's allowed but they won't shoot you for it
I think that Soo's hooked....0 -

Just a bit..
Sold nothing today on Amazon, but i've sold a few BINs on Ebay so that gives me my selling 'high'.
Also, rummaging through some of the many book shelves here I've even found an old building society pass book with £2 in it from 1983, the Building society no longer exists but I think I'll try and track then down anyway and ask for my £2 back...

I might be wrong...but the beauty of the Amazon way seems to be that if it doesn't sell, it costs you nowt...if it doesn't sell on ebay you still have to pay listing fees. I have only just listed my first items on Amazon today (after being inspired by the thread!!) so cannot really compare yet but I've never set the world on fire with my ebay book selling attempts!!!
I can see myself getting sucked into this addiction...it just seems like a better class of book buyer shops at Amazon!!!
Most of my listings are books I paid less than 50p for(or had bought for me as a child...pure profit!!!) so even making a couple of pounds is worth it.Laughing at my ancient signature...voodoobaby now 10 years old:eek:0 -
I agree, the no fee till you sell is quite compelling, I have had books listed for over a year that sell for no apparent reason other than a buyer finally found it, if they were on ebay I'd have been seriously out of pocket.
The idea that you can pick a book out of your collection or bring it home from wherever and have it up for sale in the same time as it takes to boil a kettle is pretty compelling too.0
