selling books on Amazon - tips for more profit

Good grief! It's all getting far too involved for me. I think I'll just list at a fair price and wait. I'm not depending on the sales. By the way, I was very choosy what I bought at the boot sales last Sunday, and I've sold half of them at a tidy profit - so a good mornings work. Thanks AT.0

Please can i have some help! I'm an amazon selling newbie thanks to this thread (sold one so far!)
I've found another obscure book that I'd like to put on amazon. Its listed but not held in stock and theres a buyer waiting. I've searched loads of books sites and book finder sites and just can't find this book anywhere. I paid £14.99 (new) for it a few years ago and its in great condition. What should I price it at?? I don't want to be greedy... but christmas is round the corner!!!What do you think?
Just to add.. amazon haven't listed a price for it as its not in stock.Saving money is fun :A0 -
I'd have a go at a high price, maybe around £20.00 and if there is no response from the waiting buyer keep reducing it until you either hit the price they said that they'd pay or you get the idea that they've found one somewhere else and forgotten to take if off the pre-order list (it happens, I'm afraid)0

When you list a book that has someone waiting for it it comes up in a box at the side, it obviously doesn't tell you how much they are prepared to pay and what condition they want it in...that's all a big guessing game, if you get it right bingo! you win, you sell your book but as I said in the previous post you may not get a response because this 'buyer' doesn't answer his emails that tells him that the book has been found or they have found it somewhere else but didn't cancel the pre-order0

If you're a Pro-Merchant Seller you can access a Pre-Order Report which lists requested books.

I've taken out some of my books from sale at Amazon as I realised they were too heavy for the postage charged and I wouldn't make anything:(. When you go to a boot fair what do you look for mainly pls?0

I would if I could, I clicked the link but it said that the account I was logged into didn't have access, I assume that it's because it was from your account. I searched the amazon site and couldn't find where you got the link from - can you tell me how you got to it and I'll have another go0
